Angels' Hostel - Taipei Ximen

Pros: - Good location, close to Ximending, close to restaurants, shops and train station. - Facilities in good condition, friendly staff - Good air conditioning Cons: - They don't have their own toilets, you have to go outside of the hostel to use a public toilet, and it can be quite far if you stay in certain rooms (suite A for example) - The bathroom floors are quite dirty as people use outdoor shoes. Outdoor shoes should not be allowed in the shower area. - The metal stairs for the bunk beds are quite loud. - The lights in the bedrooms are not controlled centrally by the staff, so the lights can be turned on by anyone in the middle of the night (which happened during my stay). - Essentials such as towels are additional costs not included in the price.

There are trash boxes in the lobby but all are too small and easily filled up and sometimes spilt over. I recommend the owner to change them to bigger ones.

Stayed here for 1 night. Accommodation does not come with towel included. One will have to pay a fee to use their towels. Shower pressure was good with hot water. but the cubicle is rather small. Basins could be cleaner. Toilet is not in the hostel itself, but it is just a few minutes walk from the back door of the hostel. There is no toilet paper in the toilets. One will have to take the toilet paper in advance in the hostel before heading to the toilet. Location is good. It is about a 10 mins (or less) to Taoyuan Airport MRT and Ximending, and about a 15 mins walk to Taipei Main Station. Room was comfortable enough with adequate aircon. However, there was 1 or 2 inconsiderate occupiers during my stay who turn on the room lights and left the room with out turning them off. Each bunk is equipped with its own private light, so I did not see the reason why they would need to turn on the room light. In my room, it seems that half of them are long term stayers, but that did not affect my stay. Would I stay here again? Probably not. But if I am unable to find another accommodation, I may consider it again.

I had to keep climbing up to a second level bed. I am 78 years old. In general, the staff are helpful. The price is okay. The area does have food, not the greatest. The distance to major transportation is fine.

Well, there's nothing wrong given what I paid for. It's a hostel after all. I gave it 4 instead of 5 because the space in my opinion is quite small, and it's still quite hot around the entire area (except for the sleeping space). It was sort of an inconvenience how I had to bring toilet paper before going into the bathroom. Otherwise, everything was great! Perfect for what I paid for, and would definitely come again if I'm on a budget.

The location of the hotel is good, just 8 minutes away from XiMenDing. The room is really dark, even though there is a lamp beside each bed. What bothers me most is there are no safebox to keep my valuables or even a curtain for privacy. The toilet is about 1 min away from the room so make sure you go before you go back to your room, it can be a little annoying. Overall an okay experience staying in the hostel

It was very convenient place. Near MRT station, shops, night markets and historical places in Taipei. Good for back Packers and Tourists who just want to have a nice place to sleep in after touring around the City and nearby districts.

It’s in the center of the city. Actually the hostel is inside the commercial building. You can find everything nearby. Market and grocery stores are few minutes away.

Cheap, the basic amenities are equipped. It is a hostel not a hotel, so the toilet and bathroom cleanliness is a little bit bad. The bed and air conditioning is not bad. People who like to make friends is highly recommended

Clean bed and staff service was good, just

Basically you won't expect much with such an attracting price, everything is self-serviced, including security of your own belongings. Anyway, I had four nights of nice sleep there.

nice place but the guest may not understand the culture of living in a hostel many peoples share aroom, someof them may snore. The solution is using the ear plug but notwake the others
