Everything was great. What we liked are that staff were nice and friendly, prompt in services; firm bed to our liking and inviting pool area; in particular, the breakfast was delicious and the chef knows how to cook. The only issue was the access to the internet. It’s fast when connected but dropped out or didn’t even have internet at night from time to time.

A short but excellent stay, couldn’t fault it! The staff were really helpful when discussing restaurants and things to do. The room was fantastic and all the facilities are great. Loved the fact that we were able to have bottled water without having to pay extra. Would definitely recommend stopping here.

The hotel was really nice. The staff were helpful and our room was big and spacious. The pool is in a good location had plenty of sunbeds around it and had a poolside bar with snacks. We had a mini bar with free soft drinks in our room, free water and fruit in reception. We used bolt to get to the local attractions and it was reasonably priced. The hotel offered us a package with a private driver as soon as we arrived, which was more expensive than organising ourselves, but we were happy to do the planning. Upstairs there was a fitness suite and billiards room which we didn’t check out. The location was about a 10 minute walk from the clocktower and a 15 minute walk from the bus station. We visited the night market which was 10 to 15 minute walk we ate there which was lovely and they had many stalls.

Nak Nakara is a very nice hotel, reasonably priced and has a great pool (though we were there during rainy season and only got to enjoy it for a couple of brief spells). The breakfast buffet was terrific, with a separate "egg station" that prepared omelettes, other types of eggs, and pancakes and waffles. (My only wish would have been to add mushrooms to the omelette choices, but the omelettes were done nicely.) A very friendly staff, and though our booking was originally for one night, we decided we liked the place well enough to add a second night, which I booked at the front desk and even got a bit of a discount (equal to about 400 baht) off what the first night cost. We come to Chiang Rai often enough that we'd definitely consider staying at Nak Nakara again.

Tucked away in the heart of Chiang Rai is this hotel gem, Nak Nakara. This unique hotel has a blend of local old style architecture with all the conveniences of a modern hotel. Beautiful on the outside and very comfortable on the inside. The staff; what an exceptional group, taking care of all your needs from the minute you get there until the minute you leave. The breakfast; a large variety of dishes available you won't be disappointed.

It is surrounded by woods and trees. Very peaceful and feels like with nature. Staff graciously made beautiful fruit cake for birthday. The only negative thing was booking transportation through the front desk is expensive and we realized much later.

Loves: the staff was SO helpful always, they were always available to help with anything, the fridge in the reception area which always had fresh melon and bottled water at no cost 24/7, the pool was open until 10pm (most places are 8pm latest), very quiet at night Misses: the bathroom was quite small, the side of the toilet was so close to the wall that my thigh was always leaning against it, not much counter space in there either for two people, the bed and pillows weren't super comfy and the room could use some updating.
