I had a pretty good experience at Max Hotel Hanoi. I stayed 1 night and checked in 1 hour early. The hostess was enthusiastic and helped me check in early. The room was spacious, painted in eye-catching green. The bathroom was a bit small but it was okay for one person. Next time if I have the opportunity to visit Hanoi, I will book a room at Max Hotel again.

Photography is usually permitted, but it's always polite to ask permission before taking close-up photos of individuals. In public spaces, maintaining a calm demeanour is important; loud or boisterous behaviour can be seen as disrespectful. Queueing is not always strictly observed, so patience and awareness of your surroundings are beneficial when navigating public areas or transport.

Dai Ang offers a generally safe environment for travellers, but standard precautions should always be taken. Keep your valuables secure and be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded markets or on public transport, where petty theft can occur. Familiarising yourself with the local currency, the Vietnamese Dong (VND), and having small denominations readily available will be useful for daily transactions.

Purchasing a local SIM card at the airport upon arrival is highly recommended for easy data access and communication. Essential apps to download include Google Maps for navigation, Google Translate for communication, and the Grab app for ride-hailing. Confirming your passport validity and any necessary travel documents well in advance is crucial.

Visa Information

For Philippine passport holders planning to visit Vietnam to explore Dai Ang, understanding the visa requirements is essential. As of current regulations, Philippine citizens are typically granted visa-free entry into Vietnam for stays of up to 30 days. This allows for a convenient and straightforward entry process, making it easier for Filipinos to plan their trips to Dai Ang and other parts of Vietnam without the need for a pre-arranged visa. It is always advisable to check the latest immigration policies before your travel dates.

The visa-free entry for Philippine passport holders generally requires that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay and that you possess a confirmed onward or return ticket. While no specific fees are associated with this visa exemption, travellers should be prepared for potential immigration checks. It is crucial to ensure all your travel documents are in order, including proof of accommodation and sufficient funds for your stay in Vietnam, to facilitate a smooth entry process.

While visa-free entry is a significant advantage, policies can change. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that all travellers, especially Filipino citizens, verify the most current visa regulations with the official Vietnamese immigration authorities or the Embassy of Vietnam in the Philippines before booking flights or making travel arrangements. Confirming your entry requirements ensures a hassle-free journey to Dai Ang and avoids any last-minute complications at the point of entry.
