Meritel Hanoi

Good hotel overall for our first trip to Hanoi. However, not 5 stars by western standards, funky smell in room which other reviews note, smells damp or mildly. In comparison, some other people we met on our trip had similar or better quality/smelling rooms at hotels marked 3 and 4 star for less than half the price. Also: Everything in this hotel such as food/drink/massage/side trips is very high priced compared to options just outside the front door on the same street.

A superb hotel. Katy and all staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Beautiful room. Rooftop bar was lovely. Room service was delicious and prompt. Day spa was beautiful and my massage and facial was excellent. Highly recommend this oasis in the middle of the bustling city

Aussie Traveller Review 🇦🇺 – Loved Our Stay! We’ve just returned from two weeks in Vietnam and absolutely loved this hotel. What you see in the photos is exactly what you get, clean, modern, and beautifully maintained. Unlike other hotels we researched, people complained the hotels were nothing like their photos. The service was outstanding. Judy, our lovely host, organised our Halong Bay tour and marked out local spots on a map like ATMs, markets, and Beer Street. The staff added us to "WhatsApp", which made it super easy to confirm tours and make requests during our stay, so handy! Our room had daily turndown service, fresh sheets every two days, great aircon, and was blissfully quiet despite being in a busy area. Some hallway noise from doors or the cleaners’ cupboard is normal, but it didn’t bother us at all. The rooftop bar and pool are quaint, and the gym was a bonus, fully air-conditioned with great equipment (my husband loved the squat rack!). Location is spot on: 5 mins walk to Train Street 10 mins walk to the Cathedral 15 mins walk to Beer Street and Old Hanoi Night Markets "Grab" is a must have app for transport or food delivery, it's reliable and easy to use. You aren't charged for anything until the trip or delivery is completed, so this makes it reliable. There’s also a supermarket about 15 minutes walk away for supplies. We’d definitely stay again – highly recommend!

It’s a beautiful hotel within walking distance to Hoàn Kiếm Lake. Lots of food, shopping and travel agencies right outside of the hotel where one can go to book trips, excursions and exchange money. The hotel also has a beautiful rooftop bar and pool. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. It made our stay pleasurable. Our rooms were very clean and we were up on the 8th floor away from the noise. The rooms were lovely, however, I’d suggest that the hotel improve the lighting in the bathroom and provide lighter bed covers. The current thick down comforter is too warm and not comfortable for sleeping.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in the Old Quarter. Great location, wonderful hospitality and lovely and comfortable rooms. The staff are all superb - special mention to Anh who checked in on us throughout our stay and was ready with local recommendations, and Tiana who arranged a thoughtful anniversary gift and a lovely note to welcome us back on our second visit. Would highly recommend the Meritel to those seeking a boutique oasis in the heart of Hanoi’s action. We will also be sure to return when next in Hanoi.

We had a great stay at the Meritel Hotel in Hanoi. The hotel was spotlessly clean with stylish interiors and a lovely atmosphere. All the staff were fantastic, but a special mention goes to Alex and Linh who were especially helpful throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable with a powerful shower and modern design. We also used the in-house spa which was amazing, definitely worth a visit. Breakfast each morning had a great selection and top-notch service. The hotel restaurant is also a great option if you're looking to have lunch or dinner, with delicious food and excellent service.
