King Christian Hotel

Great location but hotel dated, room felt like a cave since drapes broken and could not see pool or ocean view without removing drapes held on by Velcro. Pool area okay but no hot tub. I likely would try another hotel next time.

All around, a nice place to stay. Not luxurious, but perfectly adequate. No major faults. The staff may give the appearance of being aloof or unfriendly, but I perceive this as a cultural difference and not a fault. Perhaps a natural shyness. Don’t expect obsequious friendliness, as experienced at some hotelsl chains. Just genuine kindness.

I genuinely don’t understand how this hotel manages to stay in business. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that this place is long overdue for a complete overhaul—starting with the room bathrooms, which were an absolute disaster. Poor water pressure, inconsistent drainage, flushing that looked like they hadn’t been updated (or properly maintained) in decades made even the simplest routines frustrating. The rooms themselves felt stuck in another era—and not in a charming, vintage way. Everything was dated, worn, and tired, giving off the impression that upkeep is the last thing on management’s priority list. It’s one thing to have an older property, but it’s another to neglect it entirely. What truly made the experience worse, though, was the staff. Most of the cleaning and maintenance crew were not only unprofessional but outright rude and intrusive. It felt like there was zero respect for privacy, and interactions were consistently uncomfortable. We had a flooded bathroom with a poorly draining shower and the maintenance crew asked us what we did to it vs. acknowledging that the bathroom was broken from the get go. The only exception was one older, white-haired staff member who was kind, respectful, and seemed to actually care—unfortunately, they were the lone bright spot in an otherwise unpleasant stay. Overall, this was a disappointing and frustrating experience from start to finish. I would strongly advise anyone to just go to another island!

Very friendly staff. Location is a perfect location and walkable to many different shops and restaurants. Very clean and inviting.

nice people and the hotel is at colonial area. You have turism, beach, history an good restaurants and shopping around. Everithing aroung. Plus is a relax area too.

The staff at King Christian Hotel were incredibly kind and helpful. Our room was exactly as pictured, though I don’t think any picture could capture how truly beautiful the view is! I can’t wait for my next visit to the island, I will be staying at King Christian again!

We did not have an ocean view room but we had a fabulous, private patio. The pool area was fantastic and the staff were friendly and helpful

Beautiful place to stay. Close to everything. Clean and very roomy room.

Housekeeping went in my room on my birthday and stole my items. Brand new shoes, a brand new tripod for my phone and my credit card. Front desk said they would check the cameras but I haven’t heard anything from them since if you go here please do not get housekeeping until you leave they will rob you then act like nothing is wrong.

It was our second time visiting. It is very quiet which is very nice of you are retreating from the hustle and bustle of life. The shops are nice all within walking distance. The staff was nice for the most part.

The room was spacious. The view was great - you could see the sea from the bed. I really liked the location - very walkable and convenient to everything. I also liked the sun deck. But apparently, do NOT pick room 205, or ask to change if you are assigned room 205. When I mentioned the crazy loud bass and music until 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning, the front desk clerk chastised me, saying, "Most guests ask to be away from the bar." Huh?! How would I ever guess that this was a thing. SO - note to future guests of the King Christian - ask NOT to get room 205 if you want to actually sleep and not leave your room in your pjs at 2:20 a.m. to ask them to turn it down

Hotel is beautiful and convenient to anything you could want or need! Downside we got charged an extra 1300 dollars in taxes and fees!!! So be prepared if you book here!!!

Very good relaxing accommodations. Little disappointed that we only had the room made up twice, due to missing each other for room makeup. Excellent value for the money for the hotel stay. Very friendly workers and residents alike.

It was clean and cute- the hotel staff were amazing and friendly. The hotel had the best - coffee, ice cream, resturants - it was all great! No complaints.

beautiful room, weird issue about hangers as there were none in our room and when we requested some we were admonished that we would be charged if any were missing. So strange. Otherwise a lovely place
