Medan is the capital of North Sumatra Province and is one of Indonesia’s third-largest city. There are several public transportations available that you can use from Kualanamu airport to downtown Medan. The first is the Airport Train which will take you from the airport to Medan's big station. The fare starts from IDR 100,000 and takes about 45 minutes. The second one is the DAMRI Bus, with a route from the airport to Plaza Medan Fair. The fare is IDR 30,000 and takes about 60 minutes (without traffic jams).
