Established in 1954 by the king of Ubud, Tjokorda Gde Agung Sukawati, and Dutch painter, Rudolf Bonnet, Puri Lukisan Museum is one of the oldest of its kind in Bali. The museum showcases different styles of Balinese paintings and wood carvings, including works by I Gusti Nyoman Lempad and Walter Spies. The museum grounds also include a cafe, bookshop, and workshop space for learning traditional Balinese dance, music, or handicrafts.
