Did you know that our island is home to more than 1,000 species of birds, animals and marine life? Singapore has five animal theme parks and they are SEA aquarium, River Safari, Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari and Singapore Zoo respectively. Some of these parks are home to endangered animals like Orang Utan, Red Panda and Clouded Leopard!

If you wish to reconnect with nature and see the animals up close, you can pay a visit to any of these parks and have a fun day out with your family and friends!

Also, you can utilise your SingapoRediscover Vouchers (SRV) for your tickets as they are expiring end of the year.

1. S.E.A Aquarium™

Claimed to be the world’s largest aquarium, S.E.A Aquarium™ is home to more than 100,000 marine animals of over 1,000 species. Some of the sea creatures that you can see here include the Hammerhead Shark, Reef Manta Ray, Tasmanian Giant Crab and more.

Recently, they added a new immersive zone and the S.E.A Aquarium™ is now extended into the tropical rainforest and intertidal coastal terrains before the underwater exhibits. At the new zone, you will meet more interesting sea creatures such as the poison arrow frog, epaulette shark, native knobbly sea star and the colourful plant-like animals – coral frags!

Exhibits

Shipwreck Habitat

As the name suggests, this exhibit shows how some shipwrecks evolve into thriving marine habitats with sponges and corals colonising the wrecks. When viewing the exhibit, look out for the critically endangered bowmouth guitarfish aka the shark ray and Vanda the ‘miracle’ zebra shark!

Sea Jellies Gallery

Enhanced with special lighting, the sea jellies gallery is one of the most visually stunning exhibits in S.E.A Aquarium™. Though some species of sea jellies do emit light, the rest can neither glow underwater or change their colours. Six species of sea jellies have successfully bred at the aquarium, such as the moon sea jelly and white spotted sea jelly. Try to spot them the next time you are at the aquarium!

Special experiences at S.E.A Aquarium™

They will teach you basic scuba diving skills and you can make your first open water dive at the Open Ocean Habitat or SEA Aquarium.

For the inquisitive minds, the Junior Aquarist Programme will let kids aged 7 - 12 learn how professional aquarists take care of the well-being of marine animals.
