It is no secret that the Disney Cruise Line is offering cruises from Singapore with the maiden voyage from 15 Dec 2025. Unless you are living under a rock, their new ship, the Disney Adventure, will also be homeported in Singapore with unforgettable 4- or 5- night holiday itineraries available for booking through Sep 2026.

Whether you have secured your cabins (or not), you’ll want to know the best tips and tricks to make sure you get the best Disney Cruise experience possible while onboard. After reading this article, maybe you’ll be FOMO and be tempted to book a cabin too!

1. Book in advance so that you can get the best rooms

It’s always good to bring your kiasu (aka scared to lose) mentality when booking your holidays, and booking a Disney Cruise is no different. It is recommended that you book your cabin in advance so that you can get the best possible rooms.

Plus, we heard that all rooms have designated character designs too. Just picture yourself waking up to a Lion King themed room, or a Frozen themed room! Mornings will never be the same.

Just remember to book a cabin through the Traveloka App to earn S$200 worth of Traveloka Points*. Plus, you can refer your friends to get S$50 worth of Traveloka Points for every friend you bring aboard. We did the math for you so you don’t have to, and this is literally the best deal in Singapore at the moment.

2. Remember to DIY a Disney Fish Extender

Are you really a Disney fan if you do not know what a Fish Extender is? For all the ignorant readers out there (I, myself, included before I did my research), fish extenders are essentially pocket organisers that you can either get off Shopee or Lazada, or things that you can DIY with your family.

These are typically hung outside your cabin door (usually above your cabin number) and it acts as a mailbox for secret santa gifts among the cruisers. Do note that Disney Cruise Line does not coordinate or take part in this tradition, and these are organised by cruisers on each sailing.

We heard that there are usually Facebook Groups for each sailing so do remember to do a search, or be the one organising this cute tradition.

Other than a fish extender, it is also a common practice to decorate your cabin door with magnetic items. Similarly, these can be bought off Shopee or Lazada, or you can put in the extra effort and DIY your customised decorative pieces. Do note that there are some conditions to this as stated on the Disney Cruise FAQ page.

3. Remember to bring reusable bottles, toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers on board

Similar to all other cruises, there will be water fountains and bottle refill stations on board. Rather than spending more money on disposable water bottles just pack a couple of bottles in your luggage to save that extra cash! There is also some talk on the Internet that the rooms onboard Disney Cruise Line do not come with your typical amenities like toothbrush, toothpaste or slippers. So we’ll recommend checking out the Disney FAQ page for your ultimate cruise packing list. Remember to also pack tropical country essentials like a good SPF sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a camera (d-uh)!

4. Download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App

Remember to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App before you board. This is the only other essential app we will recommend downloading (other than the Traveloka app of course, which you should be downloading to book the Disney Adventure cabin to get the S$200 Traveloka Points*) so that you can fully maximise your time at sea.

The Navigator App will not only help you find your way through the ship (which is HUGE by the way - there are 19 decks and can hold up to 6,700 passengers), but also help you plan your days out at sea.

Once you are on board, you can use the app to view your schedule, reserve activities like the live shows (We’re talking about the recently announced “Duffy and the Friend Ship Show” and the “Captain Jack Sparrow and the Siren Queen Show”), and even communicate with family and friends who are also onboard with you.

Oh, if you’re a huge fan of character meet-and-greets, you’ll be happy to know that the app will list character appearance times and locations, so that you can put aside time to queue for these.

FYI, there are rumours that these can take up to 45 minutes, so you’ll want to prioritise your time. It’s also no secret that some of Disney’s iconic characters (*ahem* the Fab Five *ahem*) will also be decked out in their exclusive Disney Cruise Line wardrobe. Since Disney Adventure is a brand new line, we should be able to expect some exclusive costumes too. There are also some threads claiming that some Disney characters might be roaming around the deck so keep your eyes peeled for these!

5. Bring any Disney popcorn bucket to refill them at a discounted price

According to this reddit thread, there seems to be an unspoken rule where you can refill your Disney Park popcorn buckets for a few extra dollars!

If you are like us and have a few of these Disney Park popcorn buckets lying around at home from your trips to Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland, Paris Disneyland, Tokyo Disney Resort Park and even the Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, this is your chance to dust them off and put them to good use!

6. Check out the cafes for Disney character coffees

You’ll start looking forward to mornings if your coffees are adorned with these adorable latte art. This was something that was circulating around the Internet so we are keeping our fingers crossed that the Disney Adventure will also have these machines!

7. Participate in the multitude of activities onboard

As mentioned previously, with the plethora of activities onboard, you would not need to worry about being bored while on board.

What’s more, Disney has recently announced that there will be a Marvel Style Studio on Disney Adventure so that you can unleash your inner Super Hero, a Royal Society for Friendship and Tea where your little ones (aged between 3 to 12) can join a magical gathering with Disney Princesses, a Duffy and Friends Shop where you can buy exclusive merchandise and a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique where your kids can be transformed into a Disney Princess, knight or sea captain.

Sold and ready to book an Adventure of the lifetime? Download our Traveloka app now and book your cabin via the app to earn S$200 worth of Traveloka Points*.
