Upon landing, we headed to O-Manuel (Address: R. de, 84-100 R. de Fernao Mendes Pinto) for dinner. This quaint Portuguese restaurant has been featured on the Michelin Guide for the past 10 years, and set the scene perfectly of culinary excellence in Macau. The restaurant is run by Mr Manuel himself, and features traditional Portuguese dishes.
Some of the must try dishes include the Grilled Octopus, the tangy Vinegared Horse Mackerel, and our personal favourite - the melt-in-your-mouth 36 month-aged Iberian Ham.
With our bellies satiated and hearts full, we then headed to the Wynn Palace to catch the spectacular water fountain show, while enjoying the fresh and crisp Macanese air in a nice 20C weather. The hotel also offers a dragon-themed SkyCab cable car, which offers an immersive view of the fountain show.

The day started bright and early at the Old City of Macau, a UNESCO World Heritage site. We explored the St. Lazaro neighborhood and visited landmarks like the Ruins of Saint Paul’s, the Macau Cathedral, and Senado Square that exuded a sense of old world charm. The neighbourhood was near Rua De Felicidade, also known as Happiness Street, where we picked up souvenirs such as Almond Cookies and meat jerky.
Fun fact: Rua De Felicidade used to be the red light district of Macau!
We had lunch at Belos Tempos (Address: 5GVQ+F5F, Travessa da Felicidade), a quaint Macanese restaurant run by Macau’s celebrity chef, Chef Ana Manhao. With a goal of elevating Macanese cuisine to an international audience, her offerings draw inspiration from Portuguese, Chinese and even South East Asian flavours, such as the Galinha a Malaio (Malay Chicken) and Sopa Lacassa, a dish similar to Southeast Asian Laksa.
After lunch, we headed off to the Poly MGM Museum at MGM Macau for a quick lesson in history at their Road Beyond Borders exhibition. Entry to the museum is free, and they regularly bring in new artifacts and exhibitions to keep things fresh and interesting.

Catching the sunset while 233 meters high was a really great way to view the city & its surrounding islands, and we did it at Skypark Macau at the Macau Tower. We went during the magic hour, and watched as the day turned into night, watching the city light up below.

Dinner at SW Steakhouse in Wynn Palace (Address: Wynn Palace, Av. da Nave Desportiva) was pure indulgence. This Forbes Five-Star establishment offers a superb tasting menu with wine pairing, elevated by a short, theatrical show every 30 minutes.
On our third day, we ventured south towards the Coloane area, starting off at the Macao Giant Panda Pavilion (Address: Estr. de Seac Pai Van) where we saw giant pandas roaming around and eating bamboo. It’s free to enter the Giant Panda Pavillion, and is usually a popular area for school excursions, so best to visit early to beat the crowd!
Next, we visited the Tin Hau Temple (Address: Estrada do Alto de Coloane, Estr. do Alto de Coloane) and the A-Ma Statue, the world’s tallest statue honouring the Goddess of the Fishermen, to seek blessings for a better year ahead.
A trip to Coloane can’t be complete without visiting Coloane Village, the famous fishing village in Macau, and also home to the first Lord Stow’s Bakery. You’d probably have heard or eaten an egg tart from Lord Stow’s Bakery before - they are really popular in Macau.
Our lunch at the Pousada de Coloane was the epitome of coastal relaxation. Savoring Portuguese specialties like grilled sardines, giant prawns, and clams cooked in white wine on the terrace overlooking the Cheoc-van Beach, while savouring a glass of sangria was truly relaxing.
Back on the Cotai Strip, we visited The Book Lounge at The Karl Lagerfeld - the only hotel in the world with rooms designed by the fashion maven himself. We indulged in an elegant high tea experience, and enjoyed reading the many books hand picked by the icon that lined the bookshelves.

Next, we sought out architectural genius at the City of Dreams Resort. Stepping into the lobby of the Morpheus Hotel felt like entering a sci-fi masterpiece. Designed by the renowned late architect Zaha Hadid, the exoskeleton facade and the sculpted, futuristic interior are a visual feast.

Dinner at the Galaxy’s exquisite fine Chinese restaurant, Blossom Palace was the perfect, refined climax to a day of grand exploration.
We then headed out for a night walk along the Cotai Street to enjoy the sights and sounds and had a fun photoshoot around at the landmarks around The Londoner before calling it a day.
