S.E.A. Aquarium Exhibits to Check Out

The aquarium is divided into 9 zones that will take you on an incredible journey through different environments. Some of the highlights include Shipwrecked!, Open Ocean Habitat, Apex Predators of the Sea, and the newly added Aquatic Ecosystems zone — all equipped with educational content, audio-visual aids and interactive activities to create an immersive learning experience.

Entering the aquarium, you will come across a sunken ship that has evolved into makeshift reefs, allowing sea life to flourish. See if you can spot the oddly-shaped and critically endangered shark ray swimming around the wrecks when viewing the ship through an underwater tunnel or a flat viewing panel.

From Shipwrecked!, continue to the main attraction of the aquarium, a massive 18 million-litre tank called the Open Ocean Habitat. The sheer diversity of marine animals exhibited — 40,000 from120 species — will blow your mind, and the floor-to-ceiling glass wall will make you feel like you are on the ocean floor.

Take a walk through a shark tunnel and surround yourself with the most ferocious predators of the sea. Meet over 70 sharks across 12 species, including the easily recognisable scalloped hammerhead shark that has almost 360° vision, and discover their role in keeping the marine ecosystem balanced.

As part of the recent 1,000-square-metreexpansion, S.E.A. Aquarium has opened a new zone located near the exit. Marvel at the rainforest poison dart frogs and learn how their habitat is connected to the ocean at the Aquatic Ecosystems. You can also get a glimpse into the aquarium’s coral propagation efforts by observing coral frags or small pieces of coral.

Another thing you can’t miss in this zone is the Discovery Pool, where you and your little ones can touch and get a close-up look at intertidal animals like the sea star. Don’t be afraid to roll up your sleeves and get your hands wet!

Insider Tips for Visiting the Aquarium

S.E.A. Aquarium is a highly popular attraction, so to escape the crowd, you are recommended to visit during off-peak hours. You can enjoy the quiet of the deep ocean with fewer companies within the first hour of opening or 2 hours to closing time.

To make off-peak visits easier, why don’t you stay in one of the 8 hotels at Resorts World Sentosa? The options range from the nearby Hotel Michael to the eco-luxurious Equarius Hotel and the Ocean Suites, which offers a magnificent view of the aquarium’s Open Ocean Habitat from their rooms.

Enhance your experience by joining the Behind the Panel tour. This 20-minute guided tour will give you an exclusive look at how experts take care of marine animals like dolphins and manta rays. A separate admission ticket to S.E.A. Aquarium is required.

If you also plan to visit Universal Studios Singapore, the Daycation Package offers you the best value for money. You can spread the 2 parks out over different days to maximise each visit, and on top of that, you will also get many perks such as a free set meal!
