Royal Caribbean Cruise has an experience in exploring the coldend tough sea since over half a century ago. The history started in 1968 when Royal Caribbean Cruise Line was invented by Anders Wilhelmsen & Company, I.M. Skauge & Company, dan Gotaas Larsen. These three companies merged into one and interestingly, they were all a ship company from Norway.

As a proud Nation, these three companies under the name of Royal Caribbean Cruise Line launched their first ship with the name Song of Norway in 1970 and sailed for the first time to Miami on 7 November 1970. It took a long time for Royal Caribbean to get the world's spotlight, precisely 14 years after they were invented, in 1982. The spotlight finally directed to them because they successfully launched their second ship, named Song of America, which at that time was the third biggest ship after the Song of Norway and RMS Queen Elizabeth II.

The innovation didn't stop there, four years after Song of America was launched, in 1986, the company set up a coastal land in Haiti for the purpose of a final destination for their guests. Nowadays, this place is called Labadee.

Type Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship

Royal Caribbean has come a long way from 1970 until today. Not only do they diversify their business, but also improve one thing that they get famously known for: cruises.

To put you in the right perspective we should discuss first about what a cruise ship is and why this particular type of ship is special and luxurious to travel.

Cruise Ship Definition

Like the fish, there are a lot of types of ships in the sea. The one that we will discuss is cruise ships that most definitely carry a large number of passengers and are mainly used for vacationing, that's making it available to rent for a group of people.

The main difference between cruises, like Royal Caribbean cruise, with the other ship is that cruises typically only use a round trip or visit several ports. The duration also varies depending on what cruise services that you choose. For Royal Caribbean cruise, the package starts from two to five nights until 12 nights or more.

The cruise itself is also evolving in terms of the machine and the speed nowadays. Modern cruise ships often reduce the strength, speed, and agility if compared to other types of ships in the sea. Since most of them care more about the experience of all of their guests, including the mesmerising view of the sea.

Today, the recorded cruises that are actively cruising around on the sea are more than 300 in all over the world. Most of them are owned by Royal Caribbean, which has been a trusted cruise service for 50 years. Another interesting fact is that the cruise services have been a major profit for the hospitality industry that are estimated to reach almost thirty billion dollars per year. Royal Caribbean also holds the record as the owner of the world's largest cruise ship, goes by the name Symphony of the Seas.

Most Common On Board Facilities

Because of its big capacity, cruise ships often require enormous electrical power to sustain life in it. Commonly, the power in cruise ships is provided by diesel generators, including cruise ships from Royal Caribbean Singapore.

Since its main purpose is for entertainment, modern cruise ships have several entertainment facilities. Casinos are mandatory, although mainly it is only open if the cruise ships have sailed in order to avoid conflict with the local laws, same goes with the shops to avoid local taxes.

The remaining facilities are a fitness center, spa, library, theatre with broadway-style show, cinema, indoor or outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, buffet restaurant, longues, clubs, pool tables, ping pong tables, karaoke, teenlongues and child care facilities.

Other luxurious cruise ships also upgraded their facility by providing out-of-the-world entertainment facilities such as bowling alleys, basketball courts, tennis courts, and even ice skating rinks. With this much facilities, choosing a cruise, like Royal Caribbean Cruise, can be a lot. Especially if you have particular activities that you want to try since you will spend much time on the cruise.

Crew

Like a hotel, the crew on cruise, including the one that Royal Caribbean has, is based on the hospitality service. Cruise crew commonly contracted with the duration of 3 to 11 months of working time, and can be varied depending what type of cruise and what purpose does it serve.

The endurance of the cruise crew has to be strong. Unlike hotel staff, the cruise crew, Like the one in Royal Caribbean, has to work 77 hours for weeks in 10 months in such limited space. If they don't have any endurance, this situation can be frustrating for them.

Interestingly, although the fee for cruise crew is low, there are some considerations that make a career like cruise crew promising. The cruise crew don't have any responsibility to think about their expenses on board, because all of the fruits and accommodation including the medical care are included.

The work of a cruise crew also requires the certificate which explains that the crew has completed the training and fulfills each step to be the cruise crew.
