1. Plane

This is the fastest and most convenient way to go to Langkawi. The direct flight from Singapore Changi Airport to Langkawi International Airport using Scoot or AirAsia Berhad (Malaysia) takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Alternatively, you may take a connecting flight through Kuala Lumpur, Penang, or Kuantan, which may be less expensive but takes longer (5-23 hours). 2. Bus

Buses are only suitable if you’re not rushing to the island, as they take the longest time to arrive compared to other means of transportation. Plus, you need to take the ferry afterwards. Bus operators like Causeway Link, StarMart Express, Star Qistna, Mayang Sari Express, and Sri Maju offer various durations at affordable prices.

For instance, you can take a bus from Golden Mile Tower Singapore to Terminal Shahab Perdana Alor Setar. Then, you can take a taxi to the ferry terminal at Kuala Kedah and continue your trip via ferry.

3. Train

There are no direct trains from Singapore to Langkawi, so you must make several stops. First, you must take a shuttle train or bus from Singapore to JB Sentral in Malaysia. Then, take a shuttle or intercity train from JB Sentral to Gemas. Arriving in Gemas, take an ETS train from Gemas to Alor Setar or Arau.

Choose to disembark in Alor Setar and take a bus to Kuala Kedah, or disembark in Arau and take a taxi to Kuala Perlis. From the ferry station, you can finally take a ferry to Langkawi.

4 Ferry

Follow the bus or train route above to take the ferry from Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis to Langkawi. Usually, the ferry fare from Kuala Perlis is cheaper than the one from Kuala Kedah, as it is shorter in duration.
