Unbeknownst to many, Tanjong Pagar Food Centre is a hawker centre located at Tanjong Pagar Plaza. With plenty of local delicacies and snacks, it is a foodie gem to those working nearby! From wanton noodles and chicken rice to curry puffs and muffins, there is no lack of local food that you can find here.
Of course, the hawker centre was crowded and filled with people when we stepped in during the lunch hour. This just shows how good the food is, doesn’t it? Find a table and order some of your favourite local delights, I promise you won’t have to travel to Amoy Street Food Centre and Maxwell Food Centre when this is just nearby Tanjong Pagar MRT!
Tucked away in a corner at Tanjong Pagar Plaza lies Equate Coffee; a cosy cafe that serves artisanal coffee and pastries. The interior of the cafe gives off a very minimalistic vibe with its long white benches and tables, along with the white and gold coffee bar counter.
We tried the Matcha latte ($6.50) and Tall White ($5.50) and it was pretty legit. The Matcha latte was just right; not too creamy and nutty. Whereas the Tall White has a roasted and chocolatey taste. Perfect for coffee lovers!
It’s a place where you can chill on a Saturday afternoon with your friends or by yourself, we definitely recommend going down to this cafe if you are in the area!
Located around Guoco Tower, Tanjong Pagar Urban Park is an urban oasis with a wide green lawn, rooftop garden and a large open space that offers a place for people to take a break and unwind when needed.
You might have walked past this place before, but never stop to take a second look at it. That’s okay! The next time you are there, do take a look around and you will find that there are eateries around and seats for you to dine and just chill. Occasionally, there might be special events and outdoor performances that make the place come alive more.
There, you have it. These are some of the underrated and lesser known places in the ever popular Tanjong Pagar district. If you are popping up here, remember to check out these hidden gems and who knows, you might love it!
