Everything in moderation, right? Including staying indoors. At this point, days of the week have become a foreign concept to some, but we’re here to help each other. Take these fun home projects (yes, DIY slime included) with you to spend some quality time with your family or other half! Being indoors has its perks too, so keep your chin up and it’ll soon be over.

Make slime because why not

If you didn’t already know, slime is 1. extremely satisfying 2. therapeutic and stress relieving. Have you ever caught yourself in a rabbit hole of slime videos on YouTube? Same. Here’s how you can actually make your own.

You’re gonna need:

1/2 a cup of clear/white PVA School Glue
1/4 cup of liquid starch
1/2 cup of water
Food coloring, confetti, glitter, or your fun mix-in of choice.

Here’s how it works:

Measure 1/2 cup of glue and pour it into a bowl.
Add 1/2 cup of water to the glue, then mix it well.
Add your food coloring and mix.

Note: When you add color to white glue, the color will be lighter (You can use clear glue for jewel toned colors!)

Pour in 1/4 cup of liquid starch.
Keep stirring until your slime gets gooey. All the liquid should be gone by now.
Start kneading your slime. Knead it well as it helps improve its consistency.
Put it in a clean container and set it aside for 3 minutes, and you will also notice the change in consistency.
Enjoy!

Make your own popsicles

You may or may not have seen this on Pinterest over the years — but honestly, it’s one of the easiest things to do because you can really go to town with the flavors!

Here are some of our favourite ones:

Honey Lemonade Popsicles

Honey
Freshly squeezed lemon juice
Water

Sprite popsicles

Fill your popsicle mold with Sprite
Add gummy bears for a fun surprise!

Milo popsicles

Milo
Add marshmallows because why not!

Make your own bath bombs

Remember when Lush bath bombs were all the hype? Well, you can make your own too!

You’re gonna have to note down these ingredients then make a trip to the grocer:

Baking Soda
Citric Acid
Epsom Salt
Cornstarch
Coloring pigment
Almond Oil
Essential Oils
Bath bomb molds

Here’s how you make them:

Begin by measuring and whisking your dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add as little or as much colouring pigment as you’d like to achieve your ideal shade.
Mix your wet ingredients in a small cup. Add your essential oil of choice.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Add it slowly, one drop at a time while still mixing. (The citric acid is what causes the bath bombs to fizz, adding the wet ingredients slowly minimizes this affect, allowing you to create the ball)
Once mixed, it’s ready to mold. You can use a cupcake pan or silicone mold for different shapes and sizes.
Once done, let the bath bombs dry for at least 24 hours.

Start bullet journaling

Are you a virtual calendar person or an actual book-journaling person? Well, either way, you can always try this out! It’s known to be therapeutic and de-stressing as you plot dates and doodle around your journal. All you need is to have a journal, and you can design the pages in whatever way that you like — you can paint, add dry flowers, post-its, etc.

Dalgona, but make it Matcha

We’re sure you’ve heard of the famous Dalgona coffee, but there are so many ways you can give it a twist! You can use Milo, hot chocolate powder, or in this case, Matcha powder — to achieve the same thing, just in a different flavor!

We hope everyone’s been doing okay at home, and we hope you’re keen to try out some of these cute projects! Stay safe, stay sane, and take care, folks.
