The worst case of COVID-19 in Singapore occurred when the Omicron BA.5 subvariant wave hit, but now that the government has launched a massive vaccine, the Omicron BA.5 subvariant wave has passed.

It has been observed that since the end of July 2022, the infection rate in the community seems to be decreasing for all age groups, and the number of hospitalized cases has decreased very much. Even the government has allowed the public to remove masks except in closed rooms. Almost all daily activities in Singapore have also returned to the way they were before the COVID-19 period. The COVID-19 condition in Singapore is confirmed to have stabilized.

As a country with a high tourism sector, Singapore has implemented a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) which allows travelers who have received the full COVID-19 vaccine to travel from or to Singapore without having quarantined. Singapore has collaborated with several countries regarding this VTL to make it easier for travelers, such as Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and many others.

The benefit of this VTL is very important for travelers because they can be quarantined free, but of course, they must meet some requirements determined by the receiving country, such as being required to test for COVID-19 both pre-departure and upon arrival.

Summarizing information fromICAregarding departure from Singapore, if you want to depart from Singapore, you must complete documents for overseas travel, such as passports (make sureat least six months before departure), filling out The MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) e-Register forms, and others.

However, travelers must comply with the entry requirements imposed by their destination country. Some countries may require tourists to bring several documents, such as COVID-19 test report before departure, a vaccination certificate, and a COVID-19 recovery certificate.

Things You Must Know: After Arriving in Thailand and Before Returning to Singapore

After several months of Thailand carrying out super tight restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Thailand is now back to normal and has begun to relax some of the restrictions and quarantine requirements for travelers wishing to enter Thailand.

Below are some of the latest guidelines that you must follow right before entering Thailand regarding regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Make sure you are fully vaccinated with vaccines approved in Thailand, proven by a vaccination certificate and there must be a digital version equipped with a QR Code.
It is recommended that you purchase travel insurance (although as of 1 July it is no longer required). This travel insurance can provide protection regarding your vacation in Thailand.
For those who have not been vaccinated, they must include the results of the COVID-19 test, RT-PCR or Professional Antigen (Pro-ATK), test provided that they are issued within 72 hours before leaving for Thailand. The results of this test can be in digital or printed form.

For those of you who are going to Thailand and need the latest information regarding the condition of COVID-19, at least Thailand has recorded more than 4 million cases of COVID-19, but recently there have been fewer than 1,000 cases a day of COVID-19 in Thailand.

This is because of the vaccination program launched by the government on a large scale since June 7, 2021, until now around 76% of its citizens have been fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, the Thai government has lifted its requirements for visitors who apply for Thailand Pass online before their trip. As many have mentioned before, travelers who have been vaccinated will no longer need to show COVID-19 test results.

Restrictions to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus have also been relaxed. People are allowed to take off their masks. Even so, there are still many people who continue to use masks in closed spaces, such as in markets or malls. Then, some public places also still provide regulations regarding the use of masks in closed places.

All tourist attractions, such as museums, monuments, cinemas, swimming pools, and others have been fully opened. Other entertainment venues have also been given permission to reopen and use normal operating hours as before COVID-19.

Furthermore, if there are circumstances that require you to go to a health center in Thailand, you can go to the following places:

Bangkok Nursing Home Hospital at Silom, Bang Rak, Bangkok.
Bumrungrad International Hospital at Khlong Toei, Watthana, Bangkok.
Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital at Khlong Tan, Watthana, Bangkok.
Bangkok International Hospital at New Petchburi Road, Bangkapi, Huai Khwang, Bangkok.
The Bangkok Christian Hospital at Suriya Wong, Bang Rak, Bangkok.

Then, when you return to Singapore, there are several things you should do. COVID-19 tests are no longer required for people who have been fully vaccinated and are only required to complete with an SG Arrival Card at least 72 hours before leaving for Singapore.

The latest regulations regarding arrivals from abroad to Singapore, as of August 29, 2022, all people have been free from quarantine but are still implementing preventive measures which of course have been relaxed.
