Kansai Airport (KIX), officially Kansai International Airport, serves Osaka and the wider Kansai region in Japan. Built on an artificial island in Osaka Bay, it has Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Both terminals handle domestic and international services, so use your airline and e-ticket to select the correct building before arranging transport.
Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Jetstar Japan, Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines are among the airlines using Terminal 1. Domestic check-in is on the second floor, while international check-in is on the fourth floor. International arrivals are on the first floor. Match the airline and flight details on your ticket with the airport displays before joining a check-in queue.
Peach and Jeju Air use Terminal 2. Peach domestic check-in is on the first floor. Tell your driver which terminal you need, and check the terminal shown on the e-ticket even if you have flown the route before. A domestic destination does not automatically mean that your flight leaves from Terminal 1.
Kansai Airport Station connects with the second floors of Terminal 1 and Aeroplaza. For Terminal 2, take the free shuttle bus from the first floor of Aeroplaza. Include the walk to the bus boarding area and the transfer when planning a train journey to a Terminal 2 flight. The railway station and Terminal 2 are separate parts of your journey.
On arrival at Terminal 2, use the shuttle connection when travelling onward by train. For an itinerary involving different terminals, check with your airline how to handle baggage and the next check-in before beginning the transfer. Keep each flight's terminal details accessible while moving through the airport.
Nankai's Rapi:t limited express and Airport Express connect Kansai Airport Station with Namba. Choose the train and ticket that fit your journey, then plan how to travel from Namba to your accommodation. Before the return trip, compare the available train times with your flight's check-in requirements. Passengers using Terminal 2 also need the Aeroplaza shuttle connection.
JR's HARUKA provides direct connections from Kansai Airport Station to Tennoji, Osaka, Shin-Osaka and Kyoto. The Kansai Airport Rapid Service serves Osaka and Tennoji. Choose the station nearest your destination and check the appropriate service before boarding. A trip to Kyoto and a trip to Namba require different rail planning, even though both begin at the airport station.
P1 to P4 serve Terminal 1, while P5 and P6 are near Terminal 2. Select a parking area for the terminal on your booking rather than driving to the first airport car park you see. Record your car's position and allow time to walk to the passenger building. When collecting someone, agree on the terminal and meeting arrangement after their arrival formalities.
KIX Lounge Premium is on the third floor of Terminal 1's international area after security. Admission depends on airline ticket or status eligibility. Confirm your entitlement before planning a lounge visit, and leave time to reach the departure gate. This location makes it a facility for eligible departing passengers rather than a public meeting place.
Temporary baggage storage is available in Terminal 1's public areas on the first-floor arrivals level and fourth-floor departures level. Before handing over luggage, check the service conditions and collection arrangements for the items you want to leave. Keep travel documents and anything needed for your next flight with you. Plan the return to the storage point around your onward departure.
Check the e-ticket for the terminal, baggage allowance and airline check-in instructions. For a pickup, share the flight number and terminal so your contact can plan the correct arrival. For an international itinerary, prepare the documents required for your journey and confirm current requirements with the airline and relevant authorities.
The ticket options and schedule tables on this page let you compare dates, airlines and scheduled departure or arrival times. Open the booking details to review any connection and its airport before choosing a flight. Use the flight status page with your flight number near the travel day, alongside airline updates. Compare Kansai Airport flights on Traveloka to plan your visit to Osaka or the wider Kansai region.
