The airport has a main terminal building connected to a satellite terminal by an underground walkway. It is modern and well signposted, with duty-free shops, restaurants, lounges and a small museum display of archaeological finds uncovered during construction.

Getting to and from the airport

Metro Line 3, the blue line, runs from the airport into central Athens, stopping at Syntagma and Monastiraki, and the same line continues to the port of Piraeus, though you may need to change trains on the way. The suburban railway also serves the airport. Express buses run around the clock to Syntagma Square, Piraeus and other hubs, while metered taxis and ride-hailing apps are available outside arrivals. For island travel, the port of Rafina is also reachable by bus from the airport.
