It's very close to Mitchell St, but the reception is located across two streets away, which isn't convenient when you have to haul your bags two blocks to check in. I had an early checkout as well. I was told to leave my swipe card in the room, but I had to walk around the block to meet my transport to the airport, as I couldn't use the Mitchell Street exit without a card. Also, the dryer requires $6 to operate. I didn`t have enough change, and it took my money. A sign saying it requires a minimum $6, would be very helpful

Staff were good, super easy to walk to the CBD and public transport, room and the general facilities were clean (didn't use the pool/kitchen/laundry, so can't comment on these). This is a budget hotel, so don't expect much in terms of room size or frills. Despite it looking slightly dodgy from the outside, it is well secured, didn't feel unsafe once. Room smelt very very stale, I think that the air conditioner filter needs to be cleaned. The rooms are not soundproofed, so you can hear doors banging, and if you're lucky enough to be next door to a very loud snorer you'll hear that as well. However, for the price it was really good, has everything that you need for a decent sleep

Thankfully we only stayed half a night as we had the midnight check in for our flight home. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating however our room was less than ordinary at best. Apart from a few cockroaches walking around, the blanket that was folded up on the shelf next to the bed smelled like it had never been washed……ever. We did however have front row seats to a couple of locals punching on in the street literally just below us. The music from the surrounding hospitality venues was LOUD. The rooms are tiny and the shower is an odd shape and if you’re on the larger side, good luck getting in and then out again. My partner and I are adamant that we will never ever stay there again.

The front building of the DCH looked amazing, however, I was to stay in the "back" property. Cigarette smoke and stale alcohol smell filled the entire building, people were drunk and yelling. I felt very unsafe even entering the car park of the building. Had a bit of a panic attack so drove back around to the front building and let the reception know I couldn't stay there. They did offer me to stay in the front building, which looked lovely, however, I chose to move motels to one I knew.

I know this is a budget hotel but for $150 a night you’d at least expect the blanket in the room to be free from yellow and red (blood) stains? The bed was only made up with a sheet. The only blanket available covered in stains, gross. The pillows were flat and almost too small to fold in half. Shower had two body wash bottles and condition but no shampoo. Wouldn’t stay again

It is noisy but that is because of the area music and people calling out. You need to change where you say the place is for when we have to book in . It is NOT 50 Mitchell street but Smith street where reception is. I live in Katherine and when i went into Mitchell Street I was looking at the value in with that sign still on the wall. When I got out of my car there was a tiny a 4 sign on the gate saying DCH not good enough I had to go to my appointment and come back to keep searching for where to go to book in. Lucky I saw someone who told me where to go. I had phoned but was told they would ring me back because they were busy but know one did. Very frustrating. I ending up booking in at 9 that night as I had to go to appointments and change in the car!!!!

The annex is not connected to the hotel. There s no reception desk nor any oversight, hence the annex is terribly noisy.?Constant shoutings, load music, banging doors. Not a very solidly built annex, you hear everything. Bed was substandard, room minute. I suppose the main DCH is far better? This booking was a real let-down. A shocker!

A shocker!

Prison cells could well be more appealing.
