Our stay at O'Reilly's was outstanding. The trails were epic, with incredible experiences at every turn. The accommodation was clean, tidy, and homely. The sunset views over the scenic rim were spectacular. We'll definitely be back. Thanks to the amazing staff! Josh.

Easily 30 mins of mountain road on the drive up but friendly drivers who didn't tailgate made the drive up bearable. Room was old and without tv but spotlessly clean. Lots of free activities, restaurant has the most amazing food despite the location and a slightly higher than normal price. Definitely eat at the restaurant for dinner but watch out for their friendly parrots who would sit with you and eat your food. We booked a 2d1n and should have stayed at least a day more. Don't miss the alpaca place at the bottom of the mountain, near the OReilly's winery. $3 to get up close and feed alpacas but a lovely experience. Manager's greeting is free with a glass of champagne and a nice talk about the history of the place. Staff were all friendly, loved the animal encounter show, got up close with sugar gliders. Overall a lovely good time. Would revisit!

How to go to O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat from Airport

Getting from Brisbane Airport to O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat requires a bit of planning, as it's tucked away in the mountains. However, the journey is well worth it for the incredible scenery and tranquility that awaits. Here are a few options for your hotel transfer from the airport to the hotel:

  • Rental Car (Most Scenic):

Renting a car at Brisbane Airport gives you the freedom to explore the Scenic Rim at your own pace. The drive to O'Reilly's takes around 2-2.5 hours and offers stunning views. Be aware that the last section of the road is quite winding and steep.
  • Private Transfer (Most Comfortable):

Several companies offer private transfers from Brisbane Airport directly to O'Reilly's. This is the most comfortable and hassle-free option, but also the most expensive.
  • Ride Hailing + Shuttle (Most Economical):

Take a Ride Hailing service from Brisbane Airport to Canungra. From Canungra, you can arrange a shuttle service with O'Reilly's or a local operator to take you the rest of the way up the mountain. This is a more budget-friendly option than a full private transfer.

Tips:

For the most convenient route, consider a rental car if you're comfortable driving on winding mountain roads. Alternatively, pre-book a private transfer to avoid any stress upon arrival. If you're on a budget, the Ride Hailing + shuttle combination can save you some money.

This is definitely a RETREAT. If you love nature, just book this place already. There is NO TV in the room, which just allows you to disconnect with the world and connect with YOURSELF. The birds are so friendly and would land outside our balcony door, but they would not come in. As this is so close to the nature, do bring repellent if you are afraid of bugs. Many nature trails to walk and I wished I had stayed one more night, just so I can go for the trails. Too many things to do, too little time. Very nice place with many activities that allows you to spend time with nature. Managed to see wallabies along the road to and fro the resort! Too cute. Staff were very friendly and helpful, so you can rest assure that you're very well taken care of. There's a laundry room so you can do your laundry if needed too! Nice place.

The room was lovely and clean with a beautiful mountain view. Plumbing wasn’t that great as we heard the toilet being flushed every time above us. Some staff members were extremely nice, others were extremely rude. The tracks are lovely and the national park is full of wildlife. Dining options were limited, and the ones offered were extremely expensive.

This is a beautiful lodge in the rainforest. Just a gorgeous setting with vivid bird life. We kind of bumped into this property by accident and regret that we couldn’t stay longer. There is so much to do that we didn’t have time for. Highly recommended as a destination and we would certainly recommend staying for several days if you can.
