A very convenient place to stay in Geelong. Lovely in-house dining and nice pool area. Staff were friendly and the place was well maintained. The parking is an extra charge so plan for this when booking. However there is plenty of on-street parking on weekends.

Stayed here before for work so had no issue booking again. We enjoyed the bar area for a social drink with friends and the buffet breakfast in the morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, our stay was pretty bloody good. However, we had one issue, I booked parking and arrived to be told that there was no parking available as they were full. Our room overlooked the car park, and this was not the case. On checking out they attempted to charge me for parking as it was included on my booking, needless to say I was bemused. But I learnt that on the weekends there is a lot of free parking on the street so save yourself a round of drinks and park on the street. The Rydges did not disappoint, and would we stay again, that is a yes.

Stayed 1 night with my wife and daughter. At checkin, they mentioned that our booking had only 2 adults (and did not have 1 child mentioned) although I showed them the booking was clearly for 2 adults and 1 child. The manager upgraded us to a king bed room, but we still had to pay extra for the roll away bed for our daughter. The sofa bed in the room was filthy and dusty, so we couldn’t use that. The roll away bed they did send to the room must have had bed bugs because our daughter woke up with multiple itchy bug bites. Breakfast buffet was too busy because they are also the breakfast stop for the Liberty Hot air balloon rides, and the hotel (and the breakfast space) clearly can’t handle those many people. It was chaotic. Won’t be staying at this hotel ever again.
