This hostel is good value for the price and a basic place to sleep, for those seeking and/or just starting out with work / holiday / study as it’s centrally located to the closest beach to the city, transport, amenities and the restaurant strip. This place has been trying to make improvements as of late in relation to Spring deep cleaning and solving issues. Reception is very welcoming and accommodating to requests and the Wi-Fi is great. I went v limited time to check on a friend. Too many crazies, a continuous stream of psychotics at the moment and they're allowed to dominate & abuse others before any action is taken. Problem is owner evades ptoblems and gives no support to usually nice manager, who has no power to solve & is stressed. No real cleaner since March, but mop guy occupies disabled bathroom as private boudoir, which can't be used by those in actual need of it. Local hospital started using it as halfway house in April without discussing with property. One lunatic presented medication box as ID & address, saying s/w told him so. There's an obnoxious overbearing Jabba who occupies the foyer/sitting area at the moment day&night. And no rooftop pool, despite the ad. Not worth it at any price at the moment.

Extremely Disappointing Experience I arrived at the property at 2 AM only to find that my room had been changed from Room 4 (for which I had already received the login details). I was not informed of this change—no email, no message, nothing. The new room I was given was in a terrible condition: dirty, with items scattered all over the floor, no functioning AC, and a strong unpleasant smell. To make things worse, I wasn’t even provided with the key for the new room. When I asked, the staff casually told me to keep the door open while using the washroom so I wouldn’t get locked out—completely unacceptable and unsafe. Overall, it was a pathetic experience. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Very basic hostel with some big flaws. Not well signposted and confusing to find as it's in an alley off the street. My bed sheet was horribly bobbled and didn't seem clean. I found someone else's hair in it... There was dirt and dust all around the sides and under the bed. Floor seemed very dirty. Reception is only manned at certain times a day. There is a sign that says the supposed times but even during these times I saw it was empty sometimes. Kitchen was messy and dirty with used pans and plates everywhere and lots of fruit flies. All cupboards and fridge space seemed to be full and people didn't clean up after themselves. No common area. Only a couple of couches in the reception and a table and 4 chairs in the kitchen. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm. It was very small but there were only 3 of us in there. The in room lockers didn't use padlocks but instead a key you had to pay a $20 deposit for at reception. Only had 4 toilets and 4 showers for the entire hostel. The water system for the shower wasn't good. If anyone used the sink during your shower all the hot or cold water in the shower would cut out and you'd be freezing or burnt. Fans were also broken so the super hot water steamed up the entire room.

if you have a low budget, this place might be perfect to stay. the location couldn’t doubt! it’s close to the st kilda beach also the bus stop is effortless. if you comfort with party-backpacker life style. this place would be homey and you would meet a new friends from many countries. loud music all night, smell kinda weed everywhere, also there’s no privacy at all. better take more money off to get a better place to stay. cleanness are worse! the room is pretty enough for people and not that really crowd. there’s no privacy cause even though you get a secret door code but i dont know why many people can come and go, even can sleep wherever they like.

if you have a low budget, this place might be perfect to stay. the location couldn’t doubt! it’s close to the st kilda beach also the bus stop is effortless. if you comfort with party-backpacker life style. this place would be homey and you would meet a new friends from many countries. loud music all night, smell kinda weed everywhere, also there’s no privacy at all. better take more money off to get a better place to stay. cleanness are worse! the room is pretty enough for people and not that really crowd. there’s no privacy cause even though you get a secret door code but i dont know why many people can come and go, even can sleep wherever they like.
