It was friendly, helpful staff that made all the difference. The quality of the food was also better than expected from a 3.5 star organisation. And a 4 wheel drive bus tour we took to the south end of the island was well handled by the driver who also excelled at making it an informative, fun and safe trip

We had such a terrible stay that we left early, forfeiting the money we paid. The place was so overcrowded, with a cruise ship parked out front. Our hotel room had black mold in it and construction fencing and vehicles partially blocked our view of the beach. The walls were paper thin and we were kept up late and woken early by the sounds of other families talking (they weren't even being inconsiderate, the rooms were just so badly soundproofed). The layout of the resort was baffling, with glass perimeter fencing around lawns and cafes to prevent people from freely walking around. My four-year-old asked if we were at the airport when we were in the resort's main building, which gives you a sense of the design. The worst part was the food, which was borderline inedible. Everything was pre-packaged, deep fried in old oil, cooked from frozen (or all of the above). The prices were higher than a nice restaurant but the quality was worse than a service station. I realise this is an island and food needs to be brought in, but I have travelled to far more remote areas with nice things to eat, and the food here was inexcusable. This was the main reason we left, because there was literally nowhere to get a decent meal. The staff were very nice, but obviously it was beyond their power to fix this place. The whole experience was extremely upsetting considering we spent good money to come here. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

We had a lovely stay at Tangalooma. Room was lovely and spacious. Activities are pricey but we anticipated that. It would be better was if there was a water taxi out to the ship wrecks, not sure why this is only offered on cruise ship days. Also book activities ahead if cruise ship is to arrive that day, those days the resort is packed (including restaurants), as most things will book out. It is about a 30 minute walk out to the wrecks. Food options are limited. Buffet breakfast is super average, but for the kids it's worth it. For the price of rooms, not sure why no daily service. A few things seem to be service cutting for the sake of the dollar. Understandable for business, but Osbourne family have significantly moved away from their family value roots.

Lovely stay at the resort - had a family unit which had plenty of space for the 3 of us (including 7m old baby). Only downside was the shower was a bit hard to get right but wasn’t a major. Lovely beach front views. Food options are limited at the resort / restaurants so worthwhile bringing your own lunch from the mainland if staying a few days (and have a fridge in your unit!)

Our stay was great. Good old school Australian resort.

Was was great , very clean and comfortable. All staff were very welcoming , polite and friendly. The staff delivered bags to room and picked them up from our door on checkout morning which made everything so much easier and relaxing.
