What an absolutely gorgeous property to stay in. We loved the history of the property combined with the comfortable and spotless accommodation. Our biggest regret was we only booked for one night as we could have stayed a few nights and explored all the fabulous sights in the area. I would highly recommend this property for families.

Customs House is a grand European style building in an Aussie coastal town. The apartment has been renovated beautifully. It is located close to the eateries and a short drive to Mt Gambia.

Arrived late after a long drive sightseeing from Apollo Bay. We were greeted by the very friendly, nice, and helpful owner - Grant who showed us our large, clean, nicely remodeled, historic building. We stayed in the Postman’s suite which had 3 large bedrooms, kitchenette, parlor, 1 bathroom, laundry, wood burning stove, and more. It is huge. Had an amazing dinner at The Barn that night, about 20 minutes away, then returned to our comfortable beds for a deep sleep. The heaters worked well to create toasty rooms, and we enjoyed a wood fire in the morning as we ate breakfast. If your looking for a standard hotel, this is not it. If you’re looking for a special experience with history, that is comfortable, and is well cared for, this is for you.

Imposing building with a sense of history - the former policeman's residence was very comfortable but fly screens might be required to keep those pesky mozzies away. The friendly owners were on hand to ensure everything was right. Well equipped to make a memorable stay. Lovely café/restaurant just a very short walk away. Definitely recommend visiting the maritime museum across the road and the site of the old lighthouse at Cape Northumberland towards sundown.
