The Xanadu is on the older side but has been mostly renovated. The ducted air conditioning in our unit did not work properly, on heat, so an oil filled heater was provided for us which made the living area warm enough but in this day and age it should have done its job properly. Having the entire unit warm would have made our stay much more comfortable. Our unit was a good size, very clean and had a comfortable king size bed. The kitchen was very well appointed with good appliances etc. but both the kitchen and the bathroom could do with an update. The units are in walking distance to the beach and the main street where there are cafes and a grocery store. Overall, not too bad for our six night stay.

Xanadu will definitely be on our return list. The only thing we could fault which is outside their control, is the construction going on outside. The work started most days before 9am which wasn't ideal. The safe secure parking, indoor pool and lovely staff were their biggest wins.

Not well managed or communicated. Construction sites on both sides of the premises and they send a special notice to say the refurbishment of their premises is completed. I have been here 4 times now and twice people were renovating units within the complex near enough to hear the drills etc, and this time massive construction on both sides. When you pay so much for a 4 night stay it is a pity you have to go out to be able to relax.

Compared to other apartment based properties, this one was the absolute best in the area by far. We stayed in the one bedroom superior ocean view. The view was amazing and with binoculars you can see whales in the distance. Everything was clean and tidy. Large fridge/freezer and gas cooking stove. Everything was in working order. It came with a bath as well as a shower. The bed was actually a king size, not a queen or two doubles pushed together like other places fool you into using. Xanadu seems to actually care about their clients. I also saw window washers during our stay and the balcony glass was clean as well - most likely these are cleaned more often compared to other places. The couches were comfy, not cheap IKEA products. For example, the 3-seaters being used were most likely in the $4,000-5,000 price range from a commercial furniture company. We will be coming back next year. Keep in mind we went in the winter time after school holidays had ended. So timing may also be a factor.

Always a great stay at Xanadu. The facilities are great & good location. Unit was very nice & mostly comfortable. Issue with heating but every effort was made to fix. The showers in both bathrooms were very sensitive with temperature control & as a result, you could not shower for long. There was a major issue with construction work noise starting very early in the adjacent complex. This was not a Xanadu problem but it did make the stay a bit frustrating. These guys are starting loud work way before 6am!

Excellent views from the well appointed room and friendly service from all staff. There is an indoor heated pool and sauna and cold outdoor pool with bbq facilities. After the cyclone the beach is no longer flat and there is a steep decline with some areas fenced off, there is also a lot of repair work being done to try and fix the beach. This is not something the property can control but worth noting. A small but usable gym has everything you need and the apartments come with all cooking utensils you need. I would suggest they include some kind of oil for cooking, I was starting 3 nights and it is not worth buying a full bottle of oil but I definitely needed it! It is a short walk to the beach, restaurants and a 20min walk over the bridge to a week stocked woolworths (avoid the overpriced IGA nearby). All in all I had a great stay, I was able to organise a late check out but they allow you to use a visitors pass so you can use the pool and facilities (including showers) until you need to leave. I'll be back!

Overall a wonderful family stay at Xanadu (12yo and 10yo children). Tedders Ave around the corner was great for dining out. Loved joining the locals for the ritual beach-front exercise each morning! All the conveniences of a washer, dryer, kitchen, safe, & wifi in-apartment, and the kids enjoyed the shared facilities like the pools and spas after long days at the theme parks

View!!!!!!We have stayed at Xanadu almost yearly if available. Have stayed a few other places due to needing 3 beds sometimes but always feel comfortable at Xanadu and the units are large and fresh. 2 balconies. Easy walking to beach shops and restaurants. Looking fwd to staying there again later in the year.
