Though we opted for no cleaning option, the tea, coffee facilities should still be refilled each day - otherwise another perfect stay

Stop over on way from Zell am see and hotel directly opposite the train station in Salzburg, which was great. But to be honest the hotel room was very basic. The air-conditioning was awful. We were baking all night despite an open window and although there was water in the mini bar we were told by the receptionist that it would have to be paid for.

We had a great time staying at Trend Salzburg. We were able to check in very early because we took an early train overnight and arrived early. We were very impressed that we could check in and have a shower and freshen up before we started the day. Staff were very friendly.

The location is very good.

Great location, right by the Salzburg train & bus station. This was only a short bus ride into the ‘old town’. Area around hotel felt safe. Rooms are in need of refurbishment but still quite adequate. Bath room needs improvement as shower is within the bath & could be an issue for some people to use. Otherwise, I loved it and would stay again.

This hotel is conveniently close to the train station and an easy walk to Mirabellplatz and there is a lovely lady working in the bar area. But this is not a prime property! I reserved what I thought would be a good-sized normal hotel room. But the room is really shaped more like a dormitory room with the bed shoved against the wall. No room for a bedside table. The carpet in my room had two large stains, the one towel provided had brown stains splattered over most of it and it was very thin and worn. Bath amenities include a combination shampoo/body wash product and hand soap at the sink. That’s it. Curtains are not blackout so there’s quite a bit of light at night. I will say rooms are quiet at night and with some perseverance you can get the thermostat to cooperate and give you a cooler room. Even in October the room was very warm, especially for the comforter on the bed. The bed is quite firm with no cushion but not uncomfortable. Breakfast on the top floor is standard hotel continental fare in Europe. It’s not a bad hotel, but more than one or two nights might be too much without a bit more to offer guests. The hotel advertises evening food/snacks, but they are pretty limited. There is no kitchen in the bar area, so you get a microwaved dish. I did have the chili and it was really good, but the price was a tad bit high for tinned food. Staff is courteous and helpful. Trend Austria is decent basic lodging with no pretense to luxury.

Good location if you need to be near the train station. I booked a queen bed and, classic Europe hotel, get the nonsense two twin beds pushed together. I realized later in my Europe trip that the way to get a queen bed is to throw a hissy fit. I don't care if it's requested and not guaranteed for 250-300 euro a night you should be able to book what type of bed you're going to have. Why do you have the small shard of glass across the opening of the shower to keep the water in the shower? Why can't you have a shower curtain in your hotel? When I left my bags at the hotel I requested that my backpack, that had two laptops in it, be put on the floor and not on the comically small top level of the storage closet. The young man who helped me said no, it would be fine and put my back pack up on the small ledge. I said, Absolutely not, put that backpack on the floor and he countered by saying that the floor was for large luggage and I said I didn't care, if that backpack falls to the floor with two laptops in it I'm going to be upset. Eventually he agreed but he did not want to and repeatedly resisted the request. Salzburg is awesome. This hotel and it's room quality and service are not.
