Favourite part of my whole trip to Austria. Staff are friendly and helpful, the building itself is beautiful, there are 2 fantastic restaurants within walking distance, and plenty of walking/bike paths to explore. Short uber ride into the city/to the train station. Around 15€. Looking forward to my next stay!

Beautiful property with wonderful staff! The grounds are also absolutely stunning. We stayed in the palace which was so beautiful. Also breakfast was unparalleled! Our room was lovely and we had fruits, chocolates, and sparkling wine waiting for us. Marius at the front desk was wonderful!! We can’t say enough about him—he was so helpful and kind. It’s not far from old town either! We actually walked there one day which was definitely doable and took around 20 min (granted with a bit of a climb up an inclined path towards the end) Our one comment is one of the two nights we stayed there was an event at the palace that went on until about midnight, which is no problem. However, we were surprised because we could hear the bass from the music in our room. The first night we stayed was perfectly fine and quiet! All said, we would highly recommend this property and would certainly stay here again!

This place takes my breath away. The breakfast is delicious, staff are friendly. A pool is available through the summer months, a shame we just missed out on this. The scenery is amazing from the lake View Room. Bikes are available for use.

This is definitely unique experience. 1. This hotel sits at an absolutely beautiful place. The scenery at the hotel property is worth everything. I would like to sit at the garden everyday. 2. The main palace library is a historical museum by itself. The sitting is old fashion. But, I really like to have some quiet time there to read and meet friends. 3. The breakfast is awesome, not because of its food, it is because of the decoration which makes me feel eating in a palace. 4. Staffs are well trained to serve guests. We feel very comfortable. But there are some for improvement. 1. The guest rooms and hallway are old. Renovation for doos and windows are needed. 2. For the main palace, the first floor hall seems to be old fashion furnitures mixed with contemporary decoration. Except for the 2nd floor - library and breakfast halls, other floors seem to not be well maintained.

We loved the Schloss Leopoldskron architecture, interiors, ballrooms, library, breakfast, everything. The only problem was we had no heat all night (38 F) due to the storm and flooding, we understand this is no fault of the hotel, but we were not notified when we checked in, that would have prepared us.

It was magical and worth every penny ! Viewing and walking the grounds where Sound of Music was seen…the patio area over looking the Alps was absolutely stunning…the area where they fell into the water… the balcony in which Captain Van Trapp viewed Maria…and we were floored to walk-in to breakfast area and learn that was the room which Maria first walked into (without permission) only to have Captain Van Trap open the door and have her leave…this was also the ballroom.

Such a beautiful and special property, with the Sound of Music history. Breakfast by the lake was SO lovely and yummy. Adding ceiling AC to the room is the only change we would request.
