A great stay - highly recommend!

There was a little construction in front of the property; however, the hotel was nice and breakfast was good. We liked the extras such as the laundry basket and pillow spray. The location is excellent. We would love to stay here again. We didn't receive any Expedia VIP benefits.

Great location! Very friendly and helpful front desk staff! Nice breakfast options. It would be so much more convenient if the hotel had showers instead of bathtubs with showers. Overall a good choice!

Good location

Great little boutique hotel very close to all the attractions on a quiet street. Room was a little dated but charming and was large and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was small but nice. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel is in a building which was formerly a palace. It is centrally situated, 3 minutes walking distance to the city square, 4 minutes walking distance to the Burggarten Park where you can see the biggest monument dedicated to Mozart. Another 2 minutes walk across the the road is the Eschenbach palace where we saw an outstanding music concert, featuring compositions of Mozart and Strauss.

We had a room with multiple windows onto some kind of inner space/roof. I could see construction material there, so I asked at reception what was going on. I was assured that there was some work going on at another level and that nothing would start until 9am. The next morning I heard lound banging aroung 7am, went to the window and came face to face with a worker. Reception continued to tell me lies, like they would just be loading some material through the hall way windows and then would stop the noise, but that was not true. When we went downstairs for breakfast, we were surprised at how minimal the offerings were, especially for us as we don't eat meat. So we asked for scrambled eggs and were given the most overcooked eggs we have ever had. After we abandoned ship and went to another hotel for our remaining 2 nights in Vienna (BTW, a much nicer hotel with excellent breakfast offerings and a very attentive reception), we returned to the Schlosshotel and found the entire reception area covered with drop cloths as they worked on electrical in the ceiling. In other words, the entire hotel was involved in construction, and we were being charged normal prices for a less than normal experience. There were no apologies. Just an awful experience, but the good news was that leaving there led us to a superior hotel experience for the same price or less.

Very clean room & pleasant, helpful staff. Nice touches with free sweets, fruit, coffee in reception area. However, room & decor throughout the hotel is extremely dated. Tired bathroom, coloured towels & bed linen (not white). Due to being in a narrow side street, hardly any natural daylight. Overpriced.

This hotel is so charming. I felt like I was staying with a rich aunt in Paris. Excellent value for the money and perfect location.

A very boutikey type of hotel, just the right size, very clean and attractive lobby, excellent and helpful staff, beautiful rooms , large bathroom , wonderful breakfast , excellent area for walking and seeing the Vienna sights . Perfect atmosphere to visit an elegant city

This was a perfect place for one night in Vienna. It is walkable to a lot but nice and quiet. Would definitely recommend!

Dear Expedia Customer Support, My wife and I, senior citizens aged 71 and 77 and both in poor health, recently booked a 7-night stay through Expedia at Schlosshotel Römischer Kaiser in Vienna. Due to our medical conditions, we carefully choose hotels that meet essential requirements: central location, a working air conditioner, and elevator access. Regrettably, our stay was extremely disappointing and physically distressing due to the hotel's failure to provide a basic amenity—functional air conditioning—for five out of seven nights. The issue: Upon arrival, we were informed the air conditioning was not working but were assured it would be fixed the next day. That promise was repeated daily. Eventually, we learned from front desk staff that the hotel had scheduled a complete A/C system replacement, which had been planned well in advance. We were never informed of this before or at the time of booking. We tried to contact the hotel manager to express our concern, but he was out of the country. His only response, relayed through the receptionist, was to suggest we move to another hotel. This was not a realistic solution, as every nearby hotel was fully booked. Our suffering: Despite efforts by the receptionists (particularly Xiaoxi Wang, who was kind and professional throughout), the conditions in the room remained unbearable. A lovely small hotel on a pedestrianised street: fabulous rooms; very nice breakfast (with fizz if you want!); very friendly staff. Convenient for the State Opera and the pedestrianised town centre. Our 4th stay here - it is our go to hotel for our trips to Vienna. Highly recommended

Loved absolutely everything about this hotel! Warm, cozy, and welcoming (delicious coffee available 24/7 in the lobby), this hotel made us feel like we were staying with old friends with very good taste who'd lived there since the 19th C.. Charming rooms that were amazingly quiet, with windows opening onto a quaint street that's literally right around the corner from all that the Alte Stadt has to offer. Just perfect!
