Hotel Helios

Beautiful boutique like hotel right on the beach, rooms were very clean and well prepared. Restaurants all within walking distance and easy access to parking and train down the road.

The guy who was working reception was so friendly and helpful .. 10/10 for customer services and the view from the room was stunning .. I will be making a point of staying there again . Can’t recommend it high enough and once again the guy working was a credit to the company .

Great area, great staff and great room!

Great modern hotel on the waterfront walkable to centre and local car parks. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and there were tables available with a wonderful view. Room was tastefully decorated and clean. We visited in the winter so it was quite cold in the room - heating was available but the room took all night to warm up and we were checking out by then. Would stay again if we were back though.

Fantastic hotel. Lovely city view room, spacious, clean, great shower. Breakfast was excellent with good quality food and a good range. Staff nice and friendly. Area around is peaceful, safe and good to park. Would stay again for sure!

Hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and the location was excellent! Right on the beach! Price of the room was very competitive for a 4 star hotel. I will definitely be returning.

The hotel is still being refurbished, which we were not told by the email we received for the hotel and also it was not listed on the Hotel website. There was no hot water in the room. After telling the receptionist (which was very friendly) the water was turned on the next day in the morning and then it went out again. The window in my room was not sealed well, it was very cold and you could hear the wind com through the broken seal like a drift.

What I liked...the hotel is neat and clean. It is at beach front location with paid parking available. The rooms are good size with good partition in family rooms. What I didn't like...There is a lack of basic facilities such as lack of iron and no tea making facilities in room like a kettle. The breakfast is really basic, the sausages were not proper sausages, they were the boiled ones. There was no fried egg, you have to boil your own eggs and no beans, no tomatoes to go with your sausages. Staff- the guy at check in was lovely. When we told him about the lack of kettle in the rooms and how we felt like having tea, he pointed us to the coffee/tea machine where we could unwind. There were also water bottles there which we could use. Later that day when we came back from dinner there was a lady on the shift. She was quite rude and interrupted us when I went to the machine to make tea. She said that the machine was only to be used for breakfast and we can't make tea. I politely referred her to what her colleague had said and she said he was not doing his job properly. I asked her to check policy with management and she replied rudely that she didn't need to check. I explained that there is a discrepancy between staff setting their own rules and if the coffee machine is in the public area it is meant for use. I then picked up a water bottle and she made us put it back and said we cannot use it. Hotel needs consistent policies. Sauna is there but only 3 hours a day.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Cozy and very clean room, good location and friendly staff. I recommend booking this hotel for the holidays.

The check-in staff was pleasant and accommodating. The room was large, pretty basic, but with glass to ceiling window which gave us a wonderful view of the ocean, we were satisfied. Since we were on the top floor, which we requested, we were not bothered by the noise from the street and restaurants below. However, there is no air-conditioning and we were there on a very hot day. Luckily, we were provided an electric fan by the front desk staff, so that helped. Cleanliness can be improved. The window ledge was dusty and it seemed was not dusted the whole 3 days of our stay. Location is excellent, beach front and walking distance to lots of restaurants. Breakfast was basic but sufficient, although the quality of the breads could not be compared to the ones we had in the other hotels we stayed in Bruges and France. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

This hotel is an awesome place to stay! Beautiful view of the beach and sea out our window. Breakfast included hot food, fresh fruit, yogurt, breads & great coffee. There is a nice sauna room with 2 types of saunas & relaxing room. The rooftop area was a great view & would be a nice place to relax in the warmer weather. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend this hotel & would love to go back again!

The staff was very inviting and informative. The breakfast was delicious and they even encouraged us to take snacks for later. The room was very cute and clean. The mini bar prices were clearly advertised and realistic. There was some construction in the building going on that woke us but other than that it was perfect.

Quiet get away, though the room walls could be better sound proofed!

We were disappointed that there was only cold water in the room in the morning. Despite waiting for a less busy period the water did not get warmer. The service at breakfast was chaotic. There were insufficient staff on duty to replenish the demand of a full hotel. Generally we were disappointed with the hotel as the position on the beach front is excellent, the quality of the rooms are high and it hosts a Michelin recommended restaurant. With one or two small changes the Management could clearly achieve a much better review.
