What Guests Say About Their Stay

They've made a lot of improvements and upgrades to the hotel. The only issue is Wi-Fi which is going to be a problem since this is an old building with marble. It is a very beautiful building to look at especially the center of it and it is close to everything you need from transportation to restaurants. It's also close to a lot of bars and pubs and nightlife. The only thing that I wish is that we would go back to using ethernet internet. Sad to say though, those days are long gone and we'll have to stick with Wi-Fi. Oh I was saying that room service from the restaurant and the food is good.

We stayed here for its proximity to the US consulate. We loved this little hotel! The room was clean and the staff was friendly. We also enjoyed the rooftop because of the pool and the view. They serve a continental breakfast every morning which is great because you don't have to go out. Theere are several homeless people around the hotel which can be scary at night. If you're going to the consulate, there is an alley right next to the hotel that you can take and it cuts the travel time down. I don't suggest getting food from the hotel restaurant Ramal 215 because they're rude and the food was terrible. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Okay so they're renovating the rooms and the biggest improvement has been the bed! The beds are now more comfortable with a new type of mattress when the firm side but like that memory foam maybe. It's an upgrade from what they had before. The Wi-Fi is still okay but I think it's because of the structure of the building which is primarily marble. It's an older building that's built sturdy and has a lot of marble. It looks nice but it's a headache for Wi-Fi. It works well in certain spots in your room so you will have to move to different spots but this is because of the structure which looks nice and very photogenic but that's the trade-off. The Wi-Fi here still seems better than many hotels in the US.

Noisy, run down hotel, in desperate need of renovations. Calling it OK is and overstatement. If you need a place to stay near the consulate, this is a quick 5 minute walk from it, but don't expect any comfort, just a place to sleep a few hours (if you can with all the noise). Shower had hot water. Breakfast was OK. Pillow was hard as a rock.

Location is fine. You can walk to/from SDU and metro/tram stations are steps away. On the negative side: they charge for luggage storage. RS 20, which is not much, but that’s exactly the point. Breakfast

The location is perfect because the Metro is near by, you can go to the Aterro do Flamengo beach without car, the breakfast is amazing, full of options. The most important is the staff, they are nice, kind and professional! I love it my staying there and I really recommend it!

The hotel was basic which was fine, but surrounding area felt unsafe. The bed needed a duvet / blanket rather than just a sheet and body wash in the shower would have been appreciated.
