What Guests Say About Their Stay

Our brief Cambodian visit took us to the boutique Pavilion Hotel in Phnom Penh. Centrally located and near to the Cambodia/Vietnam friendship monument, but significantly hidden behind walls and trees, luckily the local taxi drivers know where this small but popular hotel is located, it can be easily missed, identified by a small Pavilion sign, bordered by white elephant statues and a security hut. A small “no sex tourist” sign was reassuring. With only 36 rooms here, you are a world away from brand or chain hotels here. A daily hum of singing from the pagoda located opposite reminds you are in Cambodia and miles away from our native UK. Off to the restaurant through the small green open air vegetative “corridors”, truly an Inner City oasis, with an immediately relaxing atmosphere. This was the hub of the hotel, friendly and attentive staff including Vesana who provided amazing service. Local food was tasty and cheap, and the evening drinks happy hour for cocktails and local beer was most welcoming. Breakfast, held in the same restaurant is a la carte style, and unlimited from a menu, with many healthy options. This is a casually relaxing hotel, feeling more like a guest house, but an unusually tropical oasis at that. Perfect for short stays, for relaxing between tours, for experiencing the local night life. A family bar with live music, a fifteen minute walk away to “Little Susie” is a must try.

This hotel is an oasis in the madness of Phnom Penh. It’s just stunning and has a beautiful history. Our delux king room was great but very small. We loved having the sun pool and lush pool to choose from. Breakfast and dinner were great. If you can, try the baked potatoes for breakfast.

My adult daughter and I stayed here for our lasts 2 nights in Phnom Penh. We were welcomed with cold towels and refreshing drinks while we checked in about 7:00pm. Our double bed room was clean with fresh fruit and fresh flowers. . Since we got there in the evening and had to leave early the morning of departure, we only had 1 full day to explore PP so didn't get to enjoy the pools or happy hour. Things we felt were adequate: *Felt safe *Could walk to a lot of places *Refillable glass water bottles in the room *Access to filtered drinking water for our own water bottles *Nice gardens and 2 pools *AC in room was adequate; but was old, not adjustable, blew on my face in bed. *Bug spray available at dining tables and by pools *Hotel and restaurant staff were pleasant *Food was OK but not great Things that could be improved on: *Window in room was big and let in a lot of light but could not see through it. *Difficult to adjust the hot water to get perfect temperature. The hot water came out so hot that it burned my fingers. *No place to store clothes if you want to unpack *While the grounds and the room seemed clean, it also felt like it needs a good deep cleaning. I don't think I would stay here again. However, this was our first time to PP & Siem Reap so not enough to compare it to. We also stayed a couple days in Hoi An, VN at a place that cost the same as Pavilion but was much nicer. The place we stayed in SR was more expensive (and nicer) so not a fair comparison.

I wish my room was more of a refuge from the mosquitos. They have a mosquito net for the bed and plug in deterents but I don't want to worry about mosquitos in a hotel room. Otherwise beautiful place, great breakfast! Room was beautiful.

What an amazing resort this is. For being small it packs a lot in. Two gorgeous pools, that are calm and where you are able to relax. Staff who are friendly and out private pool room was lovely. We used our pool a few times but loved being by the sun pool. The free tea/coffee and little biscuit was an added bonus. Sad to have left here as we would have extended for our last 2 days but it was full. Would recommend this oasis to anyone.
