Previous night we stayed was good, clean. Second time we went, the room was dirty, and was told there was no availability at first, then we made the reservation online and checked in again

Worst customer service. 0 compassion from the 2 night staff at front desk who did not let me check in to MY pre paid room after driving 3 hrs at night so I could make an important appointment in the morning. I had to drive 3 hours back home and miss my appointment. When I got there I told them I have a room booked for 2 nights and the lady responds with “we are sold out” i proceed to tell her I have already booked and paid for the room she then looks at her partner and finds my reso on the computer and asks for my ID and credit card. I explain I need to do a debit deposit because I do not have a credit card, I have stayed here a few times prior to this experience and they had no issue with me using my debit card to pay a deposit for the room. They told me that they don’t do that and that I will not be getting a refund for the night. I was visibly upset and they proceed to tell me that it’s my fault because they told me I can’t use a debit card in my CONFIRMATION email that is sent AFTER I paid for my unrefundable room. I would also like to add that I called right before purchasing my room to make sure I could check in late as I wouldn’t be there till after midnight. She said it was okay and to just put a message in the special notes box which is exactly what I did but when I got to the front desk they looked at me as if no one told them that. Expedia and the hotel won’t get back to me about refunding me for the 2 nights. I strongly believe my room was sold before I got there.
