Happy House Hostel

Great place to stay for a few nights! The location is close to the metro station and also to some landmarks like Palacio La Moneda y Plaza de Armas. Staff was polite, breakfast included, cool backyard and Pool. There was a kitchennette very convenient and in general, a great experience. The only low point is that the zone is a little bit dangerous, mainly during the night. Always try to return before is dark. With day light by your side there is nothing to worry about.

He estado en varios hostales alrededor del mundo, en que lo de refiere a ubicación y limpieza el lugar es adecuado y justo a las tarifas que pagas; el único.PUNTO NEGATIVO fue la actitud de CHRISTIAN el chico encargado del comedor, fui testigo de cómo expuso de manera negativa a dos huéspedes , uno por usar tomar un segundo vaso de jugo en el desayuno, y quieres una porción extra de cereal; y el segundo NEGÁNDOLE en una primera instancia el servicio de desayuno a un huésped registrado, como le mencioné al staff (que todos fueron lindisimos, amables y cálidos excepto CHRISTIAN) el se sacó un CERO.

we stayed at this hostel in Santiago for a day, and it was a fantastic experience. The location is central to all the tourist attractions, with many great restaurants and pubs within walking distance. The hostel has a wonderful vibe, with plenty of entertainment areas like a pool, music, and tennis. The staff are excellent and incredibly helpful. Special thanks to Amelia, who went out of her way to spend the evening with us, showing us around the city and making us feel right at home. Highly recommended!

Hostel is in a beautiful old building that has lots of character. It definitely makes me wonder what it used to be in the past. Good location, short walking distance to Plaza de Armas y Plaza de La Constitution. I had a private room with private bath on the first floor. Keyless entry which is very convenient. I came at the start of Chile’s winter. It was cold. They do have space heaters. Mine stopped working in the middle of the night, but they gave me a new one the next day. Everyone who worked there was very nice and very friendly. Francisco was especially helpful (and looks like a young Pedro Pascal :-) Room was very spacious. Breakfast was pretty good. I was able to do my laundry there. Overall, a good place for budget traveling.

I loved the pool and patio area. It was fabulous. The room did not have air conditioning and wifi did not work in the dorm. The hostel was generally clean and breakfast was good.

Very nice staff and great backyard to hangout at

Stayed here twice once in double room with private bathroom and once with shared. The hostel itself is really nice with a pool and seating area outside to soak up the sun. The rooms are spacious but could do with a bit of renovation but beds were comfy. Staff are really helpful and laundry is cheap. Breakfast is really nice and plentiful and the wi-fi works really well. Kitchen has everything you need to cook a good meal. They also let me store luggage for a week as we went to Easter island. Overall a great stay.

Room was spacious and I liked the building. Breakfast was nice, too. However, there was no hot water at all. I had to take cold shower at cold nights and wash my face with cold water for all three days and nights. It was miserable.

Fantastic Old House, bit creaky all the time, so you can not be quiet. Lovely staff, very helpful, The only thing l would add is that it would be convenient to have a mirror in the rooms, there is a sink, but to brush your hair put on makeup even, etc etc it would be good not to have to go to the shower room/ toilet.

The hostel was full of character and charm, breakfast was excellent, the eggs were delicious! Staff were friendly and helpful too.

Good, clean hostel with friendly staff around 24-7 at the front desk to help out with any queries you may have. Was low season when I was there so was fairly quiet, but there are some really cool communal areas, including lots of outdoor seating space around a swimming pool so I imagine that would be pretty cool in the summer. It's in the Brasil neighbourhood, where there are a fair few restaurants/bars nearby and lots of cool street art in the area. Within about 10-15 mins walk from the historical city centre and 15 mins walk from the Memory & Human Rights Museum. Kind of far from Bellavista which is where more of the trendy bars/restaurants are - there are plenty of hostels in that area if you're more interested in that.

Very nice hotel in a 1910 building with tall ceilings and interesting architecture. Can be noisy due to the older condition of the building, but rooms and facilities were in good condition. Walking distance from City center.

In total, I stayed four nights in April on 2 different occasions (to begin and end my trip). A fairly quiet hostel - which suited me - as I am not keen on staying at a party hostel. In fact, the hostel catered for a diverse mixture of clients - solo travellers, groups and families. The facilities include - an outdoor pool, games area, laundry; and, lots of nooks and spaces to chill on couches. Breakfast was very good - order your eggs with the ladies in the kitchen - they'll even whip up pancakes! Delicious. The rooms are huge, with comfortable beds. The shared bathroom facilities are kept very clean. Being a beautiful, older building, expect some floor creaking - so bring your ear-plugs. An Uber to/from the international airport will set you back around 13000clp - cheaper than a taxi (around 18000clp) or a Transvip trip. From the hostel it's a 20 minute stroll to Plaza de Armas where you should do the free walking tour. There are also great restaurants locally on Av. Brasil - which is a five minute walk. Reception staff are friendly, speak English (which is a bonus for me with limited Spanish) and will happily accommodate requests, provide maps and local advice. The only thing that I felt was a little over priced was the laundry. 5000CLP to use the laundry facilities - DIY.

The hostel overall wasn’t bad - the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of common areas to use as well as a kitchen. The kitchen was quite well stocked but missing knives, the furniture all around the common areas was deteriorating (indoor furniture that had been put outdoors). There are lockers in the rooms which is great, the location is not excellent but within a 10 min walk you are in plaza de Armas
