Banyan Tree Hangzhou

Nice surroundings but the villa is very cold in winter. We stayed a night in the winter. The villa was extremely cold. We called the front desk; a technician came to check and admit AC is not strong enough and would get a heater for us. But the heater never came and we had to call front desk again for a quilt. Avoid the villas in winters.

The hotel environment is excellent and provides a very good GangNam feel. The staff are friendly and helpful. However, the villa room interior layout is not that user-friendly. For example, the TV is behind the long sofa bench.

Nice hotel. Front office staff was excellent but restaurant staff needs training. Some sour faced and don’t make you feel welcome. Hotel needs upgrading, lots of taps in jacuzzi and swimming pool not functioning. Sheraton which is right opposite and 1/3 the price is probably a better choice. Banyan needs to do something to prove it’s worthy of the price premium it charges!

The hotel staff was very impolite and rude. They even don't help us get a cab to the Westlake. They were very impatient when we asked questions and I won't definitely come to Banyan tree Hangzhou again

The hotel and its grounds were lovely and a good setting to relax. The dining staff went out of their way to accommodate my husband's birthday. The meals were only fair, however, and they were out of some basic items. The room was overall comfortable and beautiful, but we needed to contact the staff several times to fix the air conditioning and the room safe didn't work. The benefits far outweigh these things and we would happily return.

Very relaxing and enjoyable especially those who enjoy isolation from busy city life.

The hotel is set in a beautiful natural environment with classic architecture and Chinese culture. The water villa we stayed in overlooks the scenic lake. The cleanliness of the room was a bit disappointing for the standard that Banyan Tree promised as there is a musky smell in the room.

very tranquil area.The hotel has a really nice set up and even though there were minor mistakes staff is friendly as possible. Though A bit overpriced, villas have high ceilings and nice design but not too much of a privacy on your balcony.

Beautiful place; a little out of the way, and seemed a little desolate but we were there with family and the rooms were beyond amazing. A little pricey, but amazing.

If you're expecting a stay here like any other Banyan Tree you've been to, ie serenity, sanctuary etc, you'll probably be disappointed at the Hangzhou property. 1) we were astonished to see a lobby with more than 30 guests hanging around (they didn't seem to be checking out or in but we're just there to sight see); not to mention a clown who was doing balloon twisting seemingly to entertain the crowd. 2) we arrived at 3pm yet the room wasn't ready until 4pm. 3) the guy who escorted us to the room didn't bother to introduce the room at all 4) the concierge was very helpful to help us arrange our itinerary, although he didn't call or leave us message about whether the bookings were confirmed until we sought him out the next day before departure 5) turn down service was done the 1st night but just to do our bed without cleaning up our used tea cups & plates; 2nd night no turndown service at all 6) food - really I must say it's substandard. 7) We were very unlucky to be staying there when there was a water gun party at the hotel, and throughout the whole day loud pop music appealed to teenagers were played nonstop, rocking the whole resort. In short, if you are not expecting to have a zen, quiet type of holiday in Hangzhou, you can consider Banyan Tree. Yet, for a much cheaper rate also within the wetland park area, why not just stay at Sheraton which is only throwing distance from BT?

We had a lovely 3 days. The resort ambiance is magical and the service is the best we have experienced--being seasoned travelers in Asia and Europe...

Excellent overall. Service was superb. Attended to all our needs . Arranged for private tours. Location away from the busy congested West Lake .

Banyan tree never fails to impress. Service is impeccable and surrounding environment is very conducive for a getaway from the urban life.

I could not flaw this hotel as everything was just perfect, from arrival to farewell. Room was spacious and comfortable, complimentary afternoon tea was great, premises well maintained and pretty. The only down side (not for us though) was the location as it was located in the west most side of Hangzhou near the Xixi Wetland. It didn't bother us coz this was not our first trip to Hangzhou and we wanted to visit the wetland this time. It was expensive in China standard.

Thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary vacation at this excellent resort. Staff were all friendly and attentive and made us fell right at home. Really liked the rustic feel of an ancient Chinese village. Used the spa three times and the service was phenomenal! Found the tea house on the last day and had two great meals there!

Hotel gave us a room that’s many grades below the villa that we ordered and fully prepaid for without letting us know until we found out two nights into our week stay. Arranging to move to the right room and refund took a long time. Not helpful

飯店服務很好，環境優美，距離西溪溼地很近，飯店也有接送服務很方便。

古樸典雅，房間整潔度高。裏面有一家中餐廳是吃杭州菜的，雖然價錢較高，但味道是一流的，很值得一試。最值得去的是河內道氾舟，風景優美自然，鳥鳴不絕。遊河內道記得要提前跟酒店人員預定，頗滿的。
