Holiday Inn Express BEIJING DOWNTOWN, an IHG Hotel

We enjoyed the facilties, the receptionists, the restaurant hostesses, the housekeepers and the doorman. Everyone was extremely polite and always welcoming you back to your rooms for exciting. It was a spotless hotel. The food for breakfast had a great variety as well as quality food for all to enjoy, whether you are of Chinese descent, Asian in general or of any other various ethnicity. I appreciated their organization with receiving packages as well as I had notified them of a package arriving the next day. The rooms were always kept clean and organized to where we left our personal belongings and they always refilled what we had used. The rooms are modern and comfortable with convenient tables for eating or working. Appreciated the large TV if you do watch. The only thing we didn't enjoy as much was the design of the shower stall and the mirror placement. If you are not a couple, one person has to be mindful to not look in the direction of the shower. Otherwise, it was great. The water pressure was perfect and the products given to use were good as well. The subway station is 15 mins away however, so it is not the closest but, there are bus stops nearby as well as a lot of restaurants. Would recommend and would stay again.

The staff was very helpful calling me taxis and even giving personal phone number to assist if i needed help.

Das Personal war fantastisch. Trotz durchschnittlicher Englischkenntnisse war die Verständigung einfach. Das Personal nutzt einen Übersetzer mit Sprachfunktion. Die nächste Metro Station Dongsi ist in ca. 5min zu Fuß zu erreichen. Zur verbotenen Stadt ist es etwa ein 30min Fußweg. Die Zimmer sind sauber und geräumig. Das Bad ist zwar etwas eng aber absolut ausreichend. Es gibt Waschmaschinen und Wäschetrockner, die kostenlos genutzt werden können. Alles in allem ein super Aufenthalt!

We stayed five nights. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was also very good.

Excellent hotel stay with very attentive, friendly and helpful receptionists and doormen, who provided fantastic customer service every day. I arrived quite early from the airport, waited for a while at the lobby and was lucky to have a room available earlier to wash up and do my work. Breakfast was very good. Gym was a bit small but it does not matter since I didn't have time to use it anyway. Room is very clean and spacious. Good location. Very nice hotel stay.

We stayed in two rooms (3006 and 3008) for five nights at this hotel, and our experience was truly exceptional. 1. The reception staff went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, showing incredible generosity by granting us both an early check-in and a late check-out, which was greatly appreciated. 2. Room service was impressively quick. They immediately cleaned our room whenever they noticed us opening the door, allowing us to maximize our time and fully enjoy our holiday. 3. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious. The staff were attentive and efficient, quickly clearing my finished plates to free up space while ensuring my coffee remained untouched to reserve my table as I picked up more food. They also kindly allowed me to pack some breakfast for my wife and children, who were still asleep, making sure they didn’t miss out on the wonderful meal. 4. A special mention goes to Ms. Tammy, the front desk manager, for her outstanding professionalism and kindness. She informed us about the late-night supper service, complete with 24-hour coffee, and even went the extra mile by helping me order medication for my stomach flu, which arrived within just half an hour. 5. The hotel's location was quite convenient, as we had already known when making the reservation. Though access to the entrance required using Didi (China's ride-hailing app), it was manageable and added to the convenience of our stay. We had a great stay at the hotel, buffet breakfast was a hit. Loved the laundry service which was all controlled via QR code within WeChat. Staff were lovely and courterous. Only down side was walk to the MTR was around 12-15 mins via the Hutong which we had to dodge multiple bikes, cars and motorcycles. If it was easier to walk and closer to the station, it would've been perfect.

The hotel was clean and good. Locates in a narrow old street. The room was small and had no closet in our room.

We loved the free breakfast with so many choices. Food was quite good. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Staff were helpful and polite. The only thing i didn't like is the location which is half way into a hutong which actually is an alley. Our taxi driver wouldn't drive us right up to the hotel and insisted we get off at the entrance of the hutong. We didnt think there's a hotel in the midst of a hutong. Also there arent many nice restaurants nearby.Other than that, we are happy with the hotel.

I had chosen this hotel for its downtown location. However I soon realised its location in a hutong can be inconvenient. On 3 occasions, the Didi driver I booked stopped at the entrance to Lishihutong, and told me to walk down the hutong to the hotel myself. Their reason: the hutong is single lane, and they could get caught in a "traffic jam" in it. However the hotel itself, the service and the staff, were great. 1. I had dropped my USB multi-charging cable when out, and realised it only when I wanted to charge my phone and power banks at night. I approached Reception to borrow a USB cable for the night. Cindy at Reception said the hotel does not loan USB cables but said I could buy one online, and it would be delivered that night. It was already 10.45pm, I was sceptical. Since I am not able to read or type in Chinese, she helped me make a purchase using her phone. The much USB charging cable was delivered at 11.35pm to my room by the hotel's own delivery robot! Amazing service - both by the online vendor, Cindy, Holiday Inn Express and its delivery robot too. 2. I had booked a Didi car to bring me to the Airport. I was concerned the Didi driver may not want to drive into the hotel driveway. The doorman on duty, 刘枭翰, very kindly went to the entrance to the hotel driveway to wait for the Didi, and directed him into the driveway so I need not wait along the hutong itself. He also lifted my luggage into the boot. Congratulations on your excellent service staff!

Everything was very good, but I have two suggestions about the breakfast area. 1. As an individual traveller I didn't want to leave my bag at the table when I went looking for food or coffee (I'm very cautious). But I found that staff were too quick to take away my plates. Twice I left plates that were more than half full on the table while I went to get coffee, and found that they had been taken away when I got back. 2. The coffee situation is not good enough. Foreign guests want coffee. There's only one machine and always a line of people waiting around it. An older style of coffee service would be better (have a pot or two full of fresh coffee and let people come and pour it, rather than wait for a machine to make one cup at a time. Otherwise a very good experience.

The staff go above and beyond to assist with requests. They were also very generous and provided us with an early check in and late check out. The hotels buffet options are extensive and very delicious. Cindi at reception was very warm and approachable and helped us with navigating our day.

Incredible locations within the old Hutong district. Lovely, clean. A little bit small. The staff were fantastic and kept doing lovely extra things for our convenience.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located about 10 minutes from Dongsi metro station. As someone who is intolerant to some food groups I really applaud that the hotel is trying to label the breakfast food. However, the labelling is incorrect, for example, bread was labelled as allergen free and not as containing gluten. Fried rice with eggs was also labelled as allergen free. It would make the hotel even better if this could be addressed.
