The Westin Reserva Conchal, an All-Inclusive Golf Resort & Spa

This is our second stay at the Westin resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My husband golfed one day and I rode in the cart. The course is beautiful and well maintained. We tried a few specialty restaurants. Our favourite was the Italian. Pizza by the pool was very tasty. Staff were great. Very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed trying our Spanish out with everyone which was quite entertaining. The check-in process was the only downside we experienced. We had to change rooms three times because we had been told we would have a room overlooking the golf course but the first two times, they did not. A minor inconvenience overall.

Good property, especially the adults only section. Food and entertainment was good. The negatives - there were too many golf carts going up and down the main pathways, it was very hard to walk without having to step aside multiple times. Also there were lines at the restaurants at night - not great.

Loved everything about our stay - paying the extra money for the Westin Club Adult Only Facilities was totally worth it. The staff & service were top notch - We will definitely be back!

Great service

Had an amazing week at the Westin! We stayed in the Club level and it was definitely worth the extra money. We had a separate club with drinks and amenities. A separate pool with comfy chairs (and there was always a spot), club concierges that knew our name from day 1 and a separate restaurant for breakfast and lunch and premium liquors. The other restaurants were nice, easy to walk to and required no reservation. We only waited for a table once. There were lots of animals to see- monkeys, iguanas, catos, birds and the beach was right there. The only negative was the beach amenities. The beach area was run by a vendor so not the same level of service. You had to ask if you wanted a chair and bring your own towel. There was no food/drink service. To rent a kayak you had to haul it to/from the beach which was quite challenging. To access the beach you had to go through many vendors selling their services. The massages are legit though. We tried the green and yellow tents and would definitely recommend Gabbi and the yellow tent.

My adult family of five enjoyed our all inclusive vacation at the Westin Playa Conchal. Lots of food options and between the 5 of us we ate at all the restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful - from reception, valet, hostesses, waiters, bartenders - we could not ask for better service. I highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay!

We loved the property. We had two Club Suites and they were spacious and each had two full baths! Our concierge was so helpful and so attentive to little details. The golf course was beautiful and in great condition. If you are a foodie, don't go there with high expectations, though. The resort's restaurants are "good" but not exceptional. The resort is super clean and the staff is friendly and super-accommodating. Would not recommend GO Costa Rica for transports. They are expensive. FAYLA was half the price and provided excellent service. There are tons of excursions that the hotel will help you reserve.

Did not like the beach. Limited chairs and almost no umbrellas. If you came later then 9am there was no umbrellas left. The amount of harassment that you have to take from people selling stuff was insane.

Both the property itself along with the staff we’re both exceptional. The staff recognized us almost immediately and was kind, courteous, and extremely helpful in every way possible. I can’t wait to go back!

We just got back! The hotel is beautiful. Gorgeous pool. BUT……beware of beach! I live in NYC and felt the beach was definitely not safe. The beach is public. Local people harassing you constantly for massages, wanting you to purchase souvenirs, go for a horse back ride….it was sad to see many emaciated dogs roaming on beach as well. You could not relax on a chair on the beach. Not ok! I am very dissatisfied with this hotel. Have expressed my concerns and all they could say was we realize public beaches are a big problem in Guanacaste.

Beautiful Conchal Costa Rica Property geared towards families with several restaurants

Pros: On the beach, nice rooms, variety of restaurants, excellent staff, club level provides additional services (separate, quick check-in/out) & adults only areas. Adults only area provided a quiet, laid back atmosphere especially at the pool, breakfast, and lunch & felt like a different resort. Cons: This hotel is not set up for the beach & they make it inconvenient. There are a lack of: amenities (e.g., no palapas, towels are located out of the way in the pool area), service (e.g., have to go back to the pool area to get free drinks or food), & no water views from rooms/restaurants which is unfortunate. They basically force you to go to the pool instead. It's also a public beach so everyone is trying to sell you stuff. You can get beach layout chairs and sometimes small umbrellas (if it's windy, they won't set them up) and shade is a must so everyone is squished under a few trees. The restaurant food is okay but as expected for all inclusive. They don't allow reservations (except for 1 place, Bamboo). If you have a larger party (e.g., 5 people), they force you to wait longer. Also, the majority of people want to go to the Italian restaurant & that restaurant is so inefficient & just can't keep up. The hotel should have their other restaurants offer a better variety of food so other people will go to those as well. For example, the seafood restaurant needs to offer more than just seafood. Offer 1 basic/normal pasta dish, chicken dish, and steak dish.

I loved this resort! 1. The food was great for resort food 2. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. 3. We always felt safe even at night 4. The resort was full of monkeys, iguanas, macaws, birds 5. Lots of entertainment for kids The only downside was the beach. Don’t go here For the beach. It’s pretty and the view is great but the locals bug you to get massages as soon as you step foot on the sand and the current is strong I would go back and recommend this place every time.

The steak house was terrible .The ribeye steak was inedible.
