Great beautiful place

Good Hotel & great customer service. The beach had of lot of seaweed but they clean it and is something that the Hotels can't control.

Had a great time. Fun, lots to do. Very clean and beautiful decorated. The rooms excellent and staff very friendly. I will definitely come back. The only thing is that the food could be better. It is not so bad but it could be better.

Es la 3ra vez que nos quedamos en Bahia Principe y la primera vez con una situación desagradable con el restaurante Maiko. El teppanyaki es para vivir la experiencia del show y que mi niño de 6 meses lo disfrutara. Tuvimos reservación el domingo 15 y mientras escuchábamos las otras mesas con el show del teppanyaki, en nuestra mesa parecía que estábamos en un funeral. Expresamos nuestra inconformidad a la mesera, quien se puso nerviosa y expresó que el chef también lo estaba. Luego ella salió y le dijo al que entendemos era el supervisor en esa noche, ya que él fue a donde mi esposo, aún nosotros en la mesa, a darle la mano y decirle que iban a trabajar el asunto. Todo esto frente al chef, lo que creó mucha incomodidad entre nosotros ya que se sintió como un regaño hacia su persona. A los minutos entró otro chef con 3 chistes… se notó que le dijeron que entrara a nuestro salón (creando MÁS incomodidad). Siguiendo la misma línea, luego que terminamos de comer y nos estamos levantando para irnos (sin comer el postre), nos dicen que no nos vayamos pues el chef estaba preparando la plancha para encender el fuego y “hacer el show”. Esto luego que él limpiara la plancha y saliera ya que había terminado con nuestra mesa. Sin duda fue una situación BIEN desagradable. Cabe destacar que fuimos a Guest Service y el personal muy amable buscó una resolución luego de escucharnos, pues el lunes fuimos al rest Thali, donde el trato fue muy bueno al igual que la comida.

Beautiful place

We had a good time, but the food lacked that Dominican flavor! The young adults with me did not find much food flavor that they liked. I eat anything, lol. The drinks were no bueno…never got tipsy. Other than that, we enjoyed our time even with the sargasso (sewed) on the beach which I understand it’s the time of year for nature to cleanse and this is seen every year and in many countries in the region.

The property was old and broken down. Cold water didn't work the entire stay, which meant that the toilet took an incredibly long time to fill up. After getting food poisoning, this became a much larger issue we'll beyond being annoying. I ended up filling the toilets main water reservoir with the tiny coffee pot. For the restaurants, you got the choice of a buffet for breakfast, the same buffet for lunch and you guessed it, the same buffet for dinner. The only time you didn't get the buffet were two dinners at the other resort's restaurants. If you stay 5 days and eat on site, you eat the same chaotic buffet 13 times, which wouldn't be bad if the food was better and changed, but it doesn't. Would I go back? Nope, I sure wouldn't. Bad drinks, subpar service, aging facilities and terrible food made this a relatively lackluster place to stay.

The resort grounds were impeccably maintained, with multiple pools and reliable internal transportation that made getting around seamless. The guest rooms were modern, spacious, and well-appointed. However, the level of service fell short of expectations. Staff interactions often felt indifferent, and guest requests were, at times, met with reluctance rather than genuine hospitality. Having previously stayed at Bahia properties in Mexico, where the service consistently felt warm, attentive, and guest-focused, the contrast was noticeable. A stronger emphasis on service excellence would meaningfully elevate the guest experience at this location.

We loved our stay! WiFi was good. The food was good. We didn’t get sick and stayed 5 nights. Granted we didn’t drink water from the sink or shower and we brushed our teeth with bottled water which they provide more every morning. We did drink water from the restaurants as its purified water. The cleaning staff was very polite and all our belongings were exactly where we left them so that made us trust them a lot. We had two a la carte dinners: Brazilian steakhouse and Maiko I believe and those were amazing choices. We had our 3 month old with us and it was still pleasant, they accommodated us to a first floor room. We were close to the beach, the pool and some of their restaurants in the Olas building. The shuttle staff were very friendly and attentive. They ran nonstop. The front desk staff helped us with a ride back to the airport as well! I would give it a five star but we were not informed that part of the hotel was under mayor renovations that are set to be completed by Dec 2025. Another small detail is that the public restrooms are hot, not well ventilated at all. Wish they had a family restroom so I didn’t have to change my baby in front of other female guest. My partner says the men’s restroom does have the baby changing table inside the stall. Little details of course but we have no regrets. There were daily night activities and kids were welcomed. We walked the entire resort at night. They keep security around. We didn’t want to leave. We will visit again.

La comida muy buens mucha variedad la atencion del personal muy bueno

What they should improve on is that the reception should share more information about the place, time schedules, dining area, etc. Another thing my bedroom was infested with mosquitos. The walls and the bedsheets were stained with blood. They should prioritize keeping the rooms bug free and change and clean the sheets often.

We went as a group of 14 and had an amazing time! The place was super clean and really well taken care of. Food and drinks were great quality and lots of options. The staff was super friendly and always happy to help. Definitely a great spot for a fun and relaxing family trip!

Quality of food at buffet not good. Restaurant food has much more battery taste In general I love this place, after renovating rooms looks amazing. We already visit this place twice. I strongly recommend this place 😁

My family we can move to the another hotel because that one it’s very bad and the buffet smelling very bad

Front desk has horrible communication with it comes to customers We called front desk multiple times telling them we didn’t have a remote for our TV even went to the front desk took 3 days to get a remote for our TV, tried to order a bottle of champagne to our room for a birthday and never came, Room had a septic smell didn’t even bother to try and address it with the front desk because they don’t care anyways I would avoid this resort if you want a nice vacation
