Check in was very easy, breakfast times and checkout times explained by friendly, helpful staff. We booked a table for the evening, the meals were delicious and didn't take too long to come out, also the drinks reasonable. The room itself was clean, comfortable and well appointed for the price with plenty of sockets for both our teenage daughters electronic devices, hair straightener etc. The fact that breakfast is included in the price makes it extremely good value.

The Cat and Lion was a convenient one night stay following a family funeral. We arrived mid evening Reception was closed but our room key was available in the adjoining pub. The room was large, clean and comfortable and reasonably quiet considering it was next to the pub. Breakfast next morning was excellent. Overall a good stay.

A good weekend, comfortable rooms, efficient restaurant staff and bar staff, all friendly and welcoming.Holt's Bitter from the cask and the opportunity to meet a very old friend for a few pints. Also very convenient for my daughter's course at Anderton Lift.
