Copthorne Hotel Newcastle

Hotel is amazing but please be very very careful when giving your bank details to hotel as receptionist think it’s ok to request to take money out of your account even though you have not authorised this DO NOT GIVE BANK DETAILS

Really nice view and hotel centrally located. Car parking very easy. However, there isn't any air conditioning (fan provided) and only tiny vents to open so really quite hot in the summer. Staff very friendly. Only one lift working which needs sorting out ASAP.

We stayed for a short break in Newcastle and were very pleased with our hotel stay

It was a good stay, although the bathroom needed some refreshing and repair, also the coffee supplies were not wnough for 2 people. The staff were lovely.

Love this hotel. Never had any issues before . This time had to report shower as water temp didnt work. Water was scalding and didnt turn down. Reported to reception who thanked me for bringing to their attention. Lovely clean and confortable rooms. Always sleep well. Staff are wonderful always smiling and helpful.

We booked the Copthorne Hotel as we had tickets to see Peter Kay at the Utilita Arena. We decided to turn it into a mini break staying at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel was only a short walk from the arena and we also walked from the train station, again only a short walk. We had a lovely view of the River Tyne and two swivel chairs positioned in front of the window. It was such a good view that we spent each evening sitting in front of that window with a drink. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, comfy and reasonably clean, with a small fridge that you could stock yourself. There were tea/coffee making bits. We had a meal on the Saturday night at the hotel which was nice and I left my husband at the bar to enjoy the football. The room also had a hair dryer, fan, ironing board and iron. The water pressure was great so the shower was amazing. I would go back to this Hotel if I ever visit Newcastle again. It was just the perfect spot to walk to most destinations that we needed to get to and the room was a great space to relax in. Also if you are a runner take your running gear as it is a great place to enjoy a run along the river.

All rooms with views of the river Tyne. Spacious foyer. Large restaurant with plenty of tables.

Pleasant one night stay in Newcastle. Handy for the railway station and lovely location on the water front. Very friendly welcome on reception, good food and service

The air con wasn’t cold so the room was way too hot at night. Everything else was great. The staff very friendly and helpful

Great hotel in newcastles quayside. Nice river views. Everything was clean and how you'd expect it with friendly staff willing to help. Rooms are nice and big aswell! PARKING- give your reg at reception and then pay the cheaper rate at the machine also in reception.

Location is great.

Firstly let me say the staff are helpful charming and willing. Brilliant performance from everyone met. However, let’s be straight up. This is NOT a 4* hotel or indeed anything like it. It’s outdated, shabby and in need of total renovation. No air conditioning on a night when it stayed in the mid 20s made it nigh on impossible to sleep and the whole place was absolutely roasting. To its credit it’s in a good location but if you are looking for modern chic and in great nick, look elsewhere.
