A New Year’s Eve stay with family. A very warm welcome at check in. Room was spacious and clean. All staff were friendly and the whole evening and next morning was excellent

Great hotel for a weekend trip. Lovely reception from staff and good facilities. Loved the spa, really had the chance to unwind and recharge. Prices in the bar were a bit steep but generally good.

I am a 73 year old gentleman, I prefer to deal with people and cash, unfortunately this hotel wants technology and cards. I am not one for using phone to access rooms to online transactions or card only processes it puts me off everything. Everything I book and do I ask my daughter to do for me, when it comes to technology. When updating processes, maybe think of the people you will be leaving behind.

Having stayed at dozens of similar hotels across the EU & Switzerland. My main observation was it is DATED. No fridge in the room, no USB points, double bed was two together, yes tea & coffee, ironing board, safe; even a fan. Oh, it was cosy & warm in the room and bathroom. Decor was looking “old” but breakfast was top notch✅

It’s a nice looking hotel, my toilet had not been cleaned after the previous occupant, the room I was in had a water tank above it that kept me awake, when I mentioned it in the morning they were very aware of the problem.

We stayed following a function at the hotel. They room was comfortable and well appointed.
Breakfast this morning offed a wide choice. But it was disappointing that there were only cold plates for the cooked breakfasts, which was not very hot to start with, resulting in the food going cold very quickly.

It is ok. I would say mid range. It’s in the middle of nowhere, so only food is the restaurant which is quite overpriced for what you get. Rooms are dated, could do with a refresh for a newer look. Rooms are good prices but I wonder if I upgraded if one of those might have been better than the one I had. Staff were lovely, and very helpful. Easy parking and lots of it

Very good staff, professional and polite.
Clean and maintained very well.
Convenient parking in safe locations, easily accessible.
Unfortunately room that I had was on higher floor above the bar/restaurant. The smoking area directly below my window was rowdy until the bar shut with noise being heard above the TV even with the old windows closed. Also, the smell of cigarettes would waft up frequently mixed in occasionally with the fatty smell that comes when grilling food.

Dated beyond belief, arrived at 19:30 to be told the hotel was full and we didn’t have the room we paid for so they were going to “upgrade” us to the Manor House but there was a wedding on so expect it to be noisy.. we went over to the room and the smell was unbearable! Forget the noise from the wedding the room was bad enough! Went back to reception and they then some how found us a room that we paid for in the main hotel, after carrying all our luggage up to the new room we get in and again this terrible unclean smell, lights don’t work and it looks like it and the rest of the hotel haven’t been updated since the 70’s! Needless to say we checked out and won’t be returning.
