King John Inn

They have no AIR CONDITIONING!! The outside temperature around 3pm was around 88 degrees F and it didn’t cool down very fast. To top it off the window opened up only a few inches. The small fan did not move much of the hot air around. And, it is about 30minutes from Salisbury.

Comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff, good food. Quite busy for a Monday night which speaks for itself.?

Upon check in, I was taken to my room and advised the property wasn’t manned at night but there was an emergency number that I could call if needed. The problem with this was there is no mobile data or phone signal due to the location and the WiFi provided was from an unsecured network. I was a single female staying on business and only able to make calls on WhatsApp, not much else. The room was pleasant although very little room either side of the bed. My room was located at the entrance to the car park so very noisy from traffic passing through. They did supply ear plugs to help with this issue. There was no hot water for a shower in the morning and was forced to take a cold shower. The bathroom was a wet room which once used was not practical to use again without shoes on due to stepping on the wet floor. The heating is an oil filled radiator and took a long time to heat the room. My evening meal was good although the classic English breakfast was rather disappointing. I did complain about the lack of hot water and the member of staff confirmed other residents had also had the same. All I received was an apology and that she would tell housekeeping - no offer of a discount. To add insult to injury they had added a service charge to the evening meal which I asked to be removed and was told she couldn’t because it had already been charged. I persisted with this and she reluctantly took it off the bill. Unfortunately I won’t be returning to this establishment in the future.

The staff were great and room excellent

The staff were amazing, polite, attentive and friendly, the premises itself is very quaint, well put together and great value for money with top range food and service. I would highly recommend StJohn Inn, it really was a delight to stay there, wasn’t aware of it until googled somewhere to stay because of a business trip and look forward to my next visit. Food was excellent. Staff professional and friendly

The breakfast was really nice and the poached eggs were cooked well but unfortunately the toast was incredibly hard to eat. I found it very difficult to even cut it with a knife which was such a shame.

Last minute booking. Dog friendly inn. Paid £20 extra for the dog for 1 night. Nice room, restaurant has very good food. Breakfast was very good as well. Very friendly staff.

Beautiful location. Delightful pub and dining rooms, very comfortable room with excellent food and service.

Very helpful staff and friendly

Our stay at this inn is very lovely! We had dinner at the pub beforehand and the food was really good. They also served 1 complimentary drink as we're staying in the inn for the night. The room was very cozy, clean, and beautiful! The inn is located in the middle of the national park so you can easily walk to a nearby path or drive for a short distance to other paths. I would definitely recommend!

Great room and very comfortable with all you need. Only thing, shower need looking at, very little water power! The staff and service in the bar, restaurant and for breakfast was excellent. Nice mrenu and stayed here few times abd ss ever the food is fantastic.

Lovely find in a small village. Fantastic dinner. Crisp sheets amd wonderful hostess tray options.
