King William Rooms

The staff were friendly enough. Major issues exist though. The room was small and tight. A double bed was squeezed into a small room, so much so that one side of the bed was completely against the wall. The room is showing serious signs of wear and tear with paint chipped and marked everywhere. We stayed for two nights. Both nights, the wooden slats (part of the bed) holding the mattress up, fell out from underneath us in the middle of the night. This caused the bed to suddenly collapse. There is no staff around as this is a serious of rooms above a pub, so no one to help. I managed to fix the bed at 4am, but in doing so, I saw the awful state of the mattress - completely stained. Thinking the problem was resolved without any other issues, we didn’t feel the need to raise this with staff. The exact same thing then occurred on the second night so clearly a serious issue with the bed. Cannot report it upon check out as this was mandated by 10am (which I think is slightly early), which is before when the pub opens up. For dinner, my partner had a cauliflower curry with Homemade Roti (which is how it was advertised). What we received wasn’t a roti, but just a simple wholemeal tortilla. A bit poor really. Seriously not worth the £85 a night we paid. If the cost was half this, I’d overlook this issues. All in all, not a good stay at all.

Rooms are dull and dated. Beds are small and creaky without a decent headboard. Movement sensor in the bathroom means light switches off every few seconds unless you move. Control switch for the electric shower was in the bedroom and dodgy. Money needs to be spent on updating everything. No problem with cleanliness and convenient location for Wilmslow. Perhaps we expected too much but the room was not refreshed after the first night and we ran ran out of tea. Staff were friendly. Car park was free and adequate. We didn't use the pub this time but on our previous visit we found the bar and staff excellent.

Selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room. The room was clean and had everything that we needed. The location was ideal for where we needed to go and it was just a few minutes walk from the train station. The staff were lovely from the moment that we got there. They were so welcoming and friendly.

Rxcellent value for money in a central location. No frills but very welcoming staff.

Fabulous location... Easy to park up . Very welcoming Manager behind the bar.. only had some chicken wings and dirty fries to snack on before we headed out as we were eating later.. But they were really tasty and would Def recommend. Will be booking again next time we fly early morning

I had a pleasant stay

My stay at this hotel was not a good experience. The room was not well maintained, cleanliness could have been much better, and the service was disappointing. Basic amenities were either missing or not functioning properly. Overall, it did not meet expectations, and I would not recommend this place for a comfortable stay.

Better than expected area for a final night dinner, before the quick drive to airport and flight home the next morning!

Dysfunctional shower. Water coming out of hose at the end of the unit meaning reduced water pressure from the shower head. (Can attach a video if needed) Apart from that, everything perfect. Fay(e) was very welcoming and above and beyond helpful. If shower was working 10/10.

Great welcome and staff, pub is really handy downstairs with good beers and food. Room could do with attention in a couple of minor areas but otherwise it was great value.

Lovely stay at the King William. The staff were amazing, so friendly. Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It was a hot evening so the Manager went out and bought all the rooms fans which was a lovely touch. Would stay here again.

Nice inn with a lovely pub and terrace downstairs, manager very friendly. Simple room, clean. Good for a pitstop however the single bed room was quite noisy: not accounting for the traffic from the road nearby, which ear plugs helped deal with, there was a recurring fan moto-like noise that was unfortunately more complicated to ignore.
