Hotel very good got an upgraded room on arrival, nice staff especially on check in. Bar area cold in the evening but -5 outside. Breakfast doesn’t officially start till 8am at weekend which is a touch late for some people

Good location had a good view over the river ribble. Quiet room nicely furnished . Only fault big crack in table mirror room 222 otherwise really good 👍 food and service amazing .

Really disappointed to find that additional parking charge is added to my bill on arrival. That was not clear in the booking process and I believe I had a fixed price with only breakfast added as an additional cost. This is really not clear. Gives a very poor first impression.

Hotel is good for the price but spoilt by lack of care- curtain where hanging off and light outside in the hall was off so needed to use torch on my phone to find the key whole. Also the fact that you have to pay £5 to park your car is not hi-lighted enough. Bit of a con really as the hotel is beside the motorway and no other place you can park ????

Clean room but awkward to get to from reception. Some dust apparent. Bathroom very small with WC hard against the tiles and uncomfortable. Bathroom fan very noisy. Bathroom clean and well equipped. Staff very nice. Parking haphazard. One bed of the twin was collapsing at one corener/missing a foot?It wasn't obvious how to get into the hotel from the main road. Hotel in need of a lot of TLC and looks shabby from the outside.

Car park is chargeable, receptionist smelled bad. Kevin that works in the bar great service from him, but he definitely has frustrations with his ‘lacking’ colleagues. Poor ambience in bar, no music/no tvs, Could hear a pin drop. Walls crumbling in the bar. 4 star hotel, didn’t even have dental Kits, hair in the room bathroom/bed made poorly/pillow covers dirty/pillow covers didn’t fit pillow/carpet stained/corridors smelled/rooms dated/poor route signage to ground floor rooms/poor/slow service from other bar staff/just about hot water. Food was decent, but then again I was hungry. Over all I’d be more inclined to stay in another hotel in the area.

Certainly not a 4 star. Struggling to make it a 3 star. Staff were good. Food was ok. Heating in room didn't work. Shower could do with a spray of mould killer. It was difficult to change channels on the TV. Kept jumping channels. Curtains were ancient.

Booked a family room as travelling with my husband and 2 young kids. Arrived to check in to be told there were no family rooms available because others had booked and already checked in, so instead we were given 2 separate rooms which wasn’t ideal given we had 2 small kids. After receiving the keys, we went to find the lift given we had a pushchair with our youngest, only to find to get to the lift you need to go downstairs… made zero logical sense and not very accessible at all.

I had no light in my bedroom, no. 232, only in the bathroom and entrance area - both bedroom lamps did not work - this meant that I could not use my laptop as the room needs to be well let for me to do screen work. I moved the bed a little to the side to find another socket and when I did so, I discovered under the bed to be dirty, with paper waste on the carpet. The receptionist was efficient but not particularly friendly - no smiles - and didn't warn me that both the key and the fob had to be inserted a particular way, so I had to come back down to reception with a heavy laptop to explain the situation. Not as good as previous stays at the property when bar staff were exceptionally helpful. Also disappointed about the introduction of car parking fees. Happy I got a good room price though, but given my criticisms, I wouldn't want to have paid any more than I did on this occasion.

It was an ok stay. The family room was massive which the kids loved, everything was just a bit tired and dated but clean which is the main thing. Breakfast was poor. Continental option was limited to say the least and the cooked to order option left something to be desired. Staff were pleasant enough and it was fine for a motorway stop but save your money on breakfast!

The room was very hot due to a massive radiator with an inoperative thermostat on the radiator. It was hot all night. The cold water to the shower was not working so the water to the bath taps and shower was scalding. The toilet did not flush. The hotel is shabby but I did know that before booking. The above issues were not acceptable however. I spoke to the manager and they said they would call me but no call so far.

A Basic hotel with lots of space in the room. The hotel and attached restaurant is a dog friendly place which was helpful., I wish Hotels.com would say that the extra fee the dog would be 15 quid. It would be nice to know this upfront. It would be nice to know up front that the parking fee would be 5 quid in addition. By the time we checked in it was too late (dark outside) to consider anything else. The attached restaurant offered a pretty hefty price for what was a very basic - almost sub-par burger.

The hotel is in desperate need of an update; it is not a four star hotel! The common areas/ lift smelt very badly of damp, the walls were scuffed and marked, the hotel room had exposed raw plugs and unfinised work around smoke alarms. The window looked out onto the heating/ air conditioning units and had a multitude of cigarette butts on the roof directly outside of the window. Most inconvenient of all was the bathroom which had a very ineffectual shower and luke warm hot water so that we had to shower at a friends house! We did not dare to eat in the restaurant and so cannot comment on the quality of the food. Its such a shame as this hotel is in a prime location, but is definitely well past its best. We actually checked out a day early.
