Station Lodge

First, the positive: terrific location. Steps from the station. No response through their Expedia or direct messaging link, so we called directly. We were told we'd receive a check-in code. Received it right at 3, so find wi-fi or make sure you have data - and don't plan for an even slightly early check-in if you're arriving by train (as most do). A company across the street rents storage lockers. Good price, friendly owner. Very small room. No closet. TV is the size of a small computer screen. Couldn't watch it anyway because there was no remote. No wi-fi password on check-in. No AC. No fan. No way to open a window because debris was stacked against one of the windows, and plants were growing against the other. No on-site desk, so we called about a remote and possible fan. We were told they had no fan, but that they'd bring a remote. No one ever showed up. Uncomfortable bed. Standing water around the walls of the bathroom. Since the shower is an attempt at modernity with no door on it, we didn't dare shower. There was no way of knowing if the standing water was from the previous tenants or from humidity. Either way, showers would have been unwise. We made a note to tell whoever showed up with the remote about the standing water. In fairness, it was hot. But isn't one of the basic purposes of shelter to mitigate against adverse weather? If the weather's cool and you're traveling alone or with one partner, I suppose it's no better or worse than a very basic hostel.

Great location for walks and bar/restaurants. Ideal for travelling by train as it located by the station. The Accommodation was roomy, quiet, clean with amenities for a nice tea or coffee. Great place to stay and hope to come again.

The hotel is very close to station and has a easy self-check-in/out system. The room and bathroom are cozy and has good quality, with a very comfortable bed and sheets/towels. However, we missed a guide or general instructions (especially as there aren't staff around) of some features from our stay, like about water heating, as then seconded person to shower didn't havent too much hot water as the first one.

Very easy to get to the town centre and hiking paths. Bars and pubs just down the road and some great restaurants nearby

Amazing little gem in Windermere! The unit was exactly as advertised.Very clean and cozy place. Super close to the train station, main street, and a nice walk to the lake or trails. Would definitely book again

Great location,clean,easy to access. Only thing letting room down was lack of rails for towels and shower shelf for shower gel.Also loose carpet,door plate on entry to bathroom otherwise a pleasent stay.

Email from the property was not received until 1 hr before self check in time, room was large enough, had a problem with the TV, mould in the shower and there is a what I would call a large night light on the ceiling in front of the door that is on all night. Difficult to sleep with the light on all night, contacted the property owners with no response . It is located in a quiet area and easy to get to which was nice.

Very central accommodation. Just didn’t like the fact that I could hear people from the other rooms and even upstairs, also the fact that there was no toilet paper so needed to buy it

An overall great stay. Great location, nice spaceous room, nice bathroom. I would defo recommend and stay here again. 1 thing that what would help, would be a fridge in the room but apart from that a happy little 2 nights stay.

This is my 2nd time staying at the Station Lodge. You can't beat the price, the location and both times I've stayed I had nice large rooms. It's literally across the street from the train station, and as this is the last stop on the train you literally don't hear any sounds from the train. AND the trailhead for the Orett trail is also literally across the street. This trail spiders out to many other trails. There are a ton of restaurants, shops, pubs and the awesome grocery store with a cafe called Booths. If you're looking for an affordable place with an ideal location and easy to access the building and your room with key codes. Book it!

Excellent location, couldn’t be better, very modern build, nice bathroom suite, and very clean through out. I wasn’t aware when I booked the room hadn’t got any natural light, and I found the facilities bordering a little on the minimal. Single bed site cabinet, just a hanger as a wardrobe, no tolilet roll holder, no glasses or cups; a kettle, two mugs and tea and coffee provided though. The biggest problem for me was the noise from the rest of the rooms. There is clearly no noise insulation. First night the room opposite me were having a rather noisy conversation at 3 AM, and I was woken up by it. Second night it was the room above, with a young child stomping around with a loud this, and a weird squeak in my room. It wasn’t particularly warm, and the bed only had a very thin duvet. There was no extra blanket provided. Overall, quite a disappointing place to stay. Maybe fine for a night when you are inwards travelling.

Mr. Liam has been exceptionally helpful and responsive in all senses. Overall great stay and shall definitely recommend.

Room clean and spacious , lovely hot shower but no shampoo or wash. Bed a bit lumpy. No parking was a headache, parked in Station for £8 per night.
