A last minute booking because we were visiting friends in Brigg. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The parking, meals and access out of hours all explained to us. It was very warm so the fan in the room was very much appreciated

The room was so hot we had to open the window as we couldn’t breathe & that was after we had turned the radiators off! The emergency lighting came on about 4am & it was so bright we couldn’t get back to sleep! We spent the night in the bar & there was only 1 young barmaid on & she struggled at times to cope & to know which glass to use for our drinks! Bonus they were reasonably priced! They had a singer in well saying that loosely as he couldn’t sing a tune he was then worst singer I have ever seen! We will not be returning & it’s a shame as we have been a few times & enjoyed it with other friends as well as our family live nearby so it’s perfect location.

The couple who run the hotel work hard and are friendly. Food and drinks in pub are above average. Room is small, rundown and the shower was unbelievably small (also difficult to use). Mildew smell in hallway from recent water damage. Floors were uneven, creaky and poor carpet. Location is great.

Nice but bad for my own needs (out fairly early all day to eve and good wifi) Couldn't have breakfast as started 9am. (Hotel refunded 1 of 5 nights only. Internet didn't work in bedoom. Last orders evening food 6.45. So care before you book regarding your requirements. It is a lovely little pub hotel, and the book in lady was friendly. If it tried just a bit harder on the flexibility side. I'd do back, but as it stood, the very things that attracted me to it (breakfast and wifi and bib foid evening)..two of which I paid for, were unavailable. Shame as it's a lovely little place.

We were welcomed warmly by very friendly staff and the staff were very helpful throughout and very polite and kind, too. We weren't able to have breakfast, as we had booked, but were offered a generous afternoon meal on arrival as compensation. The room was perfectly normal and just as we anticipated. A nice touch was the toiletries (shower gel and shampoo) which seemed of very good quality indeed. We couldn't get the pub's WIFI in our room but that wasn't a big issue. One thing that would be helpful would be instructions on what to do with the room key when you leave. Once again, it wasn't a big problem (left it in the unlocked room) but it's a thought! It was a lovely location and overall, I would be very happy to return to The Lord Nelson.

Our second stay at the Lord Nelson. We like it for the location, as very convenient for visiting relatives in and around Brigg. First stay was in a room at the back which was peaceful. This time we were at the front and we were disturbed until 2 am by noise outside from rowdy revellers in high festive spirit! We had what we needed in the room for a 1 night stay. Price was higher than I hoped for bed only.

Overall the Lord Nelson is a nice place to stay, however our room was directly above the Karaoke so there was no chance of getting any shut eye before 0100hrs. It was quite entertaining listening to the passing crowds outside falling out and having lovers tiffs.
