This is our third or fourth stay at RFSK. We love this gorgeous urban oasis. The price for the stay, with an excellent breakfast and parking, is so reasonable. RFSK is clean and as long as you get a garden view room, it is very quiet. Everything is great quality. Simple but excellent. Very good public transport links as well. We love it and won’t stay anywhere else.

Pros: the staff were polite; breakfast buffet (same each day, only hot option is oatmeal) Cons: the room was REALLY small. Two people moving around the space with luggage required a lot of negotiation. Virtually no place to sit in the room except for the bed. I listened to another customer complain about the size and get upgraded to another room, but we just tried to spend all day out. Booked a superior king room. Maybe king beds are much smaller in the uk, but it felt like a double with two reasonably sized people trying to sleep. Also, the weather was very hot during our stay and the room was stifling at points. The area is quite loud at night. Woken by sirens every night of our stay. Using the DLR to get into London was fine—or the c2c the two days DLR was down— but it added time and expense. Especially if you have to get somewhere early, it would be much easier to stay inside zone 1. It also wasn’t cheap for being further out and tiny. We paid over $1800.00 for 8 nights. At that price, it would be much better to get a room in the city center. It couldn’t be smaller and would certainly be more convenient if your goal is to explore London. We also shared the space with loads of groups having retreats and/or seminars, so we didn’t feel comfortable using the gardens or other rooms at times.

A very special place in the heart of London, which offers retreats, as well as accommodation for general tourists. It is well-decorated, clean, comfortable and so tranquil, it was hard to believe we were in such a busy area. The courtyard garden was lovely, the staff were so welcoming, the breakfast was good, and having a car park on site was a bonus, and unusual for central London. Do not be put off by the rather drab approach to the carpark, inside all is fine and secure. Limehouse station is only a couple of minutes' walk away, very handy for getting around London, but you don't hear it. We will definitely return.

Interesting historical place to stay, and very good value for money for London! The bed was comfortable and I slept very well, also thanks to the quiet atmosphere. The free breakfast was tasty, with different options available. The DLR station was nearby, with national trains as well. Would stay here again!

Stayed as we were attending a show at the Troxy, a 4 minute walk away. Conveniently close to Limehouse station. The room was great with an extremely comfortable bed. No noise at night is a bonus. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty to choose from. The staff were excellent and happy to give directions. Even raising an eye when we informed them the street signposts are spelt wrong (they have Cath(E)rine). Would highly recommend.
