The Royal Horseguards, London

We checked in as two couples, having booked identical rooms many months in advance. We were given a tiny room at the front of the hotel, which was very noisy all night. After a terrible night’s sleep, we saw our friends’ room, which was twice the size and at the back of the hotel. We complained, and were moved to a similar room at the back. From then on, our stay was very pleasant, but we should not have had to suffer through the first night.

I stayed at Royal Horseguards about 5 years ago and loved it. I was a little let down this time. Street view out front is actually quieter than garden view, adjacent to a busy road. Bath was also dated in the garden view room. There were also air conditioning issues at the time during an unusually warm London week. As far as location, you can’t beat it just around the corner from the Embankment tube station. The staff was helpful and friendly. Royal Horseguards is a good though not great hotel.

Great location for our needs for Central London

The property need updating ! They put us in the smallest room . Then suggested if we want to pay more it would be an upgrade , we had terrible view and I do not feel the upgrade was worth it . The room are old and out dated the linens were dirty

Absolutely loved our stay at the Royal Horseguards Hotel. The location is unbeatable - right in the heart of London, with so much to explore just steps away. The hotel itself is impeccably clean and beautifully maintained, offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. Everything about the property exceeded our expectations.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Incredibly conveniently located and beautiful over all. My sister and I traveled with my mom who had mobility issues, however we we so close to the London Eye and the Big Ben that we went on multiple walks around town. If you needed a taxi, they were always available right outside.

Very nice hotel, however website shows inviting photos of areas off limits to guests. Not cool.

The staff was friendly, available and present to possible requests. The rooms were spacious, comfortable (temperature controlled, comfortable beds, luxuriant bath/shower) and quiet. The included breakfast had delicious, varied, and plentiful choices each morning. The location allowed easy access to the Embankment tube station as well as short walking access to many London sight-seeing locations: London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Downing Street, Horse Guards Museum, etc. I'd recommend The Royal Horseguards to friends and family.

I loved this hotel. If I ever returned to London, will definitely stay here again. The staff were lovely. Very welcoming. I got a separate room for my grandfather, and they were able to accommodate his room next to mind, and even said it was the best room he had stayed at during our entire European trip. The breakfast buffet breakfast was delicious. The hotel was within walking distance to multiple locations. Made it very easy!

Great location, one block from Embankment Underground station but very quiet neighborhood. One block walk to shops/restaurants

After a long and tiring journey, we finally arrived at The Royal Horseguards. I had called a month in advance to request a change to my reservation, but unfortunately, there was a miscommunication between Expedia and the hotel, and the change was not properly recorded. Thankfully, Jenny at the front desk — part of the wonderful team at The Royal Horseguards — stepped in and did everything she could to help. Her determination and willingness to assist were truly outstanding. Due to the mistake made by Expedia, we almost had no place to stay during Easter Weekend, but thanks to Jenny and Manager Amin, the issue was resolved, and we were not left without accommodations. Not only did they fix the issue, but they also kindly sent champagne and desserts to our room while we waited about an hour for everything to be finalized — a thoughtful touch that turned a stressful situation into a memorable experience. Thank you, Jenny! We truly appreciate everything you did for us. We look forward to seeing you again soon and will be calling the hotel directly to make all of our future bookings!
