Hotel Kajanus

The hotel can be found easily by the main road and is very close to the lake on the opposite side of the main street and shopping area. The room was spacious on the top floor. There were two toilets in the room. Windows could be opened which was good compared to other hotels we have stayed in Finland during this summer. There was also a fan to help with the airflow. Kitchen and fridge was in the basement in the shared area. Staff was not particularly helpful about the information on the hotel free bike rental and the use of the kitchen.

Sleeping is a fundamental aspect of any hotel stay. The hotel provided me with a unsatisfactory single bed without a mattress just a single mattress topper and low quality bedding -Therefore, a very uncomfortable stay and sleepless nights .Sleep

A good hotel with lots of parking space. Very easy to arrive on a car. Very close to the city center.

It was good to arranged for a late check in as my train arrives after 10pm. I stayed for 4 nights and the stay got worse as the week progressed. A few points. The spa section is run by a separate company, all with extra costs, with a small swimming pool not really suitable for swimming. The massage was a booked for an hour, upon arrival, was told it would only be for 30 minutes with no explanations. The massage made my muscles even more sore and I then had to see a physio to fix the problem caused by the masseuse. The chamber maid did not keep the room tidy. Beds were not made. Tea tray uncleaned. Tea mugs were washed in the room without detergent, instead of being replaced with clean ones. No coffee in the room. The refurbished design of the room is illogical. Although they have seat to help support old people and ppl using wheelchair, it isn't actually functionable, for a person who needs assistance to use the toilet and shower. The breakfast was ok with a wide selection of continental breakfast options. The view to the park is lovely, and I recommend requesting to be on that side. The rooms can be seen from the central high tower, so be easy of privacy. Given the many flaws i do not recommended this place unless you plan to go there for the view of the park. If its closely located to the flora tram stop, lots of car parking, a reasonable breakfast and rooms have new tv screens that are connected to the Internet for channels like Netflix, YouTube, Prime.. Lots to improve in

Convenient location, only a short walk to the city center. The hotel itself was a bit too outdated and would really benefit from some renovations. There is a small waterpark and a small gym in the same building.

Comfortable room with a private sauna. The only minor was the toilet makes loud sound after flushing.

Nice location and basic rooms, some part of the hotel would require renovation but overall very comfortable and clean.

This is an old place and there is nothing much to do about it but compensate with a good service - and luckily this is what we got from the lovely receptionist (sorry for not asking for her name) who made our stay perfect and even helped us with the reservation for our next day. Gym is HUGE! Thanks One thing - kitchen stuff should change their attitude. and close the kitchen at 9:30, not 9:00- as the sign says.

Two person room is straight from the dormitory. There is even central radio installed on the wall. Everything is worn out and there is a peanut under sofa pillow.

Hotel is old but okay. Breakfast was bit weaker than in other S-hotels. Lots of items were finished and there was not enough staff to clean the tables.

Room was small and a bit worn out. Needs renovations soon. Hallway carpets don’t look good. Bathroom was tiny and had some broken grout, black bits. Didn’t want to take a shower in that small space. Our beds were on separate walls, this room might work for a single traveler better.

Hotel OK but a bit dated. No AC so room rather hot and stuffy on arrival but window could be opened to soon cool it down. Wi-Fi and breaqkfast OK

Great stay close to downtown. Big and comfortable rooms with nice amenities, gym and swimming pools. There is a lot of history and beautiful nature in this area, would recommend a visit to the castle ruins close by.

Breakfast buffet is excellent. Paid airport shuttle isn’t good. Close to the town

Room was very cold was -10 temperature outside heating was warm at best no tea or coffee machine either.

Night stopover from Rovaniemi to Helsinki. Reception was great, room was big, hotel was kids friendly.

Good hotel for a short business trip. Courteous staff. In need of upgrading.

My room is so cold!! I can't sleep it is so cold. The heat is "on" but it does little good.

The room was spacious and comfortable enough, but definitely in need of renovation. Bathroom tiles were dirty and discoloured.
