We had a lovely stay here. When we arrived we were told we could keep our 2 motorcycles in the hotel garage. The people on reception couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and always had a smile. There is a lovely walled garden at the rear where we ate breakfast. The location of the hotel is great too. There is a Greek restaurant 2 minutes away and many other restaurants within a very short walk. Id definitely recommend this hotel which is full of character

I stayed in the hotel for a short break. The reception staff were welcoming and the rooms were charming, clean and with a great view. There is a garden where you could sit in the evening and have breakfast in the morning. The hotel is ideally located to walk around Valenciennes and to visit neighbouring areas.

Struggled to find anywhere in the vicinity. I have used a Brit Hotel before which appeared to be an old Confort Hotel. This is directly opposite the Notre Dame church. Easy walking to the city centre. It’s 2* so it’s not a Mercury or Novotel but it was clean and convenient. Price was good.

The main good thing about this hotel is that it is conveninetly located in the city centre and has parking facilities. Breakfast was sufficent for the price. The room we were given was like a small shed on the flat roof of the extension. It was very small and uncomfortable, with a high window half painted over. It had a separate toilet with no heating and a shower room with hardly any heating. We asked to change the room but were told that none other was available, although the hotel was almost empty.

I was in Valenciennes for a conference and very much enjoyed my stay at Hôtel Notre-Dame. Even though I arrived early due to the fact that I had just flown in from the US, I was given access to my room and provided with good recommendations for lunch near the hotel. The room was large for French standards, very quiet, and comfortable. Too bad I didn't get a chance to use the nice hotel's courtyard. The only negative element concerned the shower: having to sit in the bath tub or kneel instead of being able to take a real shower standing up was rather inconvenient. Thankfully, this can very easily fixed, and I hope that the owners will do this shortly.

Quaint hotel right in the middle of town. The owner was very helping in getting us free parking close to the front door, and also some informative travel tips while in the city. Gave us a tour of the property and very welcoming. For the price and time spent there, it was a great stay. Even showed us a garden area where we brought out dinner in and ate outdoors.

I was amazed at the size of the room for the 3 of us and its wonderfully grand features like the marble fire place, 4 massive inward opening windows, huge golden overmantle mirror, window boxes, modern TV and a giant sized bed with pure white linen and a good sized single bed too. The breakfast was serve yourself but had sufficient choice and a good coffee machine. You could eat in the garden if you wished. The owners/staff were so helpful, charming and understood english. Why this hotel is only 2 star I do not know. It is in a great location within walking distance of the town centre, trams and the station. It was quiet at night. My only criticism was that the room got a bit too warm at night and being ground floor I didn't feel it would be safe sleeping with the windows open. It was wonderfully ' French'.
