Hotel de l'Ocean

Had a very nice stay at the hotel. The room was quiet as it was not facing the street but the location of the hotel was perfect since it was on the street with all restaurants and cafés, and just across the streets there are the ferries to the Île de Ré. The staff was superfriendly and helpful and gave me some local tourist information as well. I spent one night only, but can't be happier with the choice of this hotel.

The hotel was ideally situated and looking directly onto the harbour. The room was very clean but a bit small however for a two day stay it wasn’t much of a problem. The bed was big and very comfortable. The lady at the reception desk was very nice and helpful. A good stay.

Long weekend in La Rochelle and hotel de L ocean is a gem right in the port. Stayed 3 nights very comfortable bed and nice room overlooking the port. Jo lift but fit enough for stairs. May not be suitable for elderly as lot of stairs. Will book again. Highly recommend. Air conditioning was great.

It's a very nice and calm hotel in a pretty good area with the view on the harbor. Close to everything. It was a good measure to stay there.

1st visit to La Rochelle, 2 nights. Excellent choice of hotel. Hotel reception is on 1st floor within a parade of restaurants and shops, all of which were busy and buzzing from about 7pm. Check-in was painless. Room (ours facing the harbour) was clean, quiet and comfortable. Yes it is not massive but perfectly adequate and with two sets of windows, silent. You will not find a bar or restaurant onsite, it is a comfortable place to relax and sleep. Those other things are just steps away outside. Staff (I only saw two) were courteous and friendly. Breakfast if required is not expensive and served in a breakfast room, either indoors or in a small courtyard. We only took one morning for, although not expensive neither was it expansive: cup of tea or coffee, orange juice, a croissant and bread roll (both fresh and nice), butter and jam, bananas or kiwifruit, plain yoghurt. Nothing wrong with that, classic french breakfast I hear you say. True, but the previous hotel we were spoiled with cereals, cheeses, ham, hot eggs, bacon, etc as well as the above. Anyway we utilised a local restaurant the 2nd day. Room air/con individually controlled and chilled, although a bit noisy and I couldn't turn the fan down. Ended up turning off and opening the windows. Super till about 7am when the bin-men arrive outside :) To summarise: a comfortable hotel in a great location. Would book again. P.S. park at 'Vieux Port Ouest', about 10 a day. 5 min walk but google it - it's all one-way streets!

Le personnel très accueillant, chambre très propre et tranquil sûr la cour, proche de tous - restaurants, sites historiques, plages.

La habitación era muy pequeña y con varias lámparas fundidas. No había mando para el aire acondicionado porque ya no era verano, pero teniendo en cuenta que había 27 grados en la calle y mucha humedad a pesar de ser octubre el aire tendría que estar operativo. No hay enchufes junto a la cama. La wifi funciona fatal y si pones los datos apenas hay cobertura ahí dentro. El secador no está disponible en la habitación. Hay que solicitarlo en recepción.

Première fois que je sejournais dans cet hôtel et franchement il est juste magnifique très bien situé personnel souriant très accueillant. Les chambres ont magnifique et la literie a vrai bonheur très confortable. Emplacement top proche de tous . Je reviendrai sans hésitation.
